Vudu Digital 3D List by Studio

I just posted this in the UV, iTunes, or both thread, but I didn't realize this thread was here, and I think this is actually better suited here so I'll repost here.

Question about the Edge of Tomorrow UV code:

I was going to enter the UV code from my 3D combo pack in my Vudu account. When I searched for EoT under the "Redeem Ultraviolet Copy" option in the "Services" menu, I saw that there were 3 versions of EoT (EoT, EoT Digital Card, and EoT 3D).

Are there any differences between these 3 options?

Does the 3D on the EoT 3D option indicate that you got your code from a 3D combo, or that it will actually give you a 3D digital copy? Or both, that it will give you a 3D digital copy but only if you enter a code that came from a 3D combo pack?

I also have a code card for the same movie (from a 2D combo, I think) that a friend gave me and it provides a Flixster based link (mine has both Vudu and Flixster links since I bought it from WM). I almost entered the code from my friends 2D combo pack since I didn't think there was any difference.

So, does it matter which EoT option you choose on Vudu (regular, digital card or 3D)? And does it matter which code you enter (i.e. one from a 3D combo vs. one from a 2D combo)?

If there is a chance of getting the 2D/3D digital combo pack (I did a quick search on Vudu and see that is one of the options), I want to make sure I do this correctly.

Actually, now that I've read through this thread, I guess I also have another question. Was I supposed to get a 3D Instawatch copy of this? I never did and I bought this at WM. I've only ever gotten 1 Instawatch DC, for Red 2 when I did a ship to store order of that.

From looking through this thread, I'm now thinking that redeeming the code from the insert inside my combo pack will only give me the 2D DC, but the Instawatch should have given me the 3D version.

Is that correct? If so, since I never got my Instawatch copy, is that something easily fixed by contacting WM CS and sending them a copy of my receipt?

Did you buy at walmart online or in store? If you bought online, the instawatch copy is likely in your account info, scroll down to see if you have any saved promotions listed.

I bought it in store, during the BF weekend, I think.

Instawatch during Black Friday was totally screwed up because of the special BF UPC codes they put on the BluRays.

I think I remember reading posts about that. But would it have affected non-BF promo items?

I bought Edge of Tomorrow 3D, PM'd to TRU. But the EoT 3D was not one of WM's promos so it didn't have a different UPC sticker or anything, just the regular UPC code.

Edge of Tomorrow 3D was previously programmed to give the 2D version. On around the 10th of January, 2015 Vudu fixed it and it should now give you the 3D version if you bought it on or after the 10th of January, 2015. If you bought it prior to the 10th of January 2015, and never entered the TC #, it's possible that you could get the 3D version if you entered it now. If you entered your TC # prior to the 10th of January, 2015 you will not get the 3D version -- no idea if Vudu would fix it for you or not.

I'm thinking you can still get them to give you a replacement Vudu code to get the 3D version of Men in Black 3 if you entered the UV code from the 3D version and got the 2D version. I know you cannot get Men in Black 3 3D via InstaWatch since I tried last night and I got nothing at all -- not even the 2D version and no it's not in "Saved promotions".

No. Easiest way to tell is to do a search at https://my.vudu.com/redeem.html. Also, this thread's list is up to date so if it's not listed there it probably doesn't work

How to get The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug 3D via In-Store Disc to Digital -- you cannot get it added via In-Home Disc to Digital (You must go to the store to do this).

Type in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug 3D

Select: The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug (3D)



Select: High Definition

You should see this:



Click: Print List

You should see this:



Print the list and take it to Walmart's Photo Center along with The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug 3D disc and pay them $2.00 -- the movie should be added.

You will receive the following email when the movie is added to your Vudu account:

47 Ronin 3D is now in-store D2D eligible. Use the same method as described for the Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug 3D to get it. When typing in 47 Ronin here: http://www.vudu.com/disc_to_digital.html you will see two listings for 47 Ronin -- choose the option that says 47 Ronin Blu-ray not the one that says 47 Ronin Blu-ray 2013. Once you add it, you will see 47 Ronin / 47 Ronin 3D -- that's the correct one. Select high definition version, print your list, and take the list and movie to Walmart's Photo Center or Electronic's Department and have them add the title for you officially

One issue with this: if you have 47 Ronin in your library already, it won't let you add it again I am logged in to my account when I am doing this, but if I log out, it asks me to log back in to continue.

There should be two listings, choose the one that says 47 Ronin Blu-ray and not 47 Ronin Blu-ray 2013

You are correct, looks like they swapped them now. The correct one to choose is the one that doesn't say Blu-ray 2013, just choose the one that says 47 Ronin Blu-ray.

I just did not have enough time and when i was ready to do it, I saw your post and I had nothing to add. It is complete and perfect!! Penguins of Madagascar 3D is available Friday. I hope somebody posts on the Vudu forums requesting a 2D/3D bundle, because so far it looks like you have to pick between versions.

Just an FYI - did this with Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug 3D and 47 ronin 3D with no problems today. The girl at the photo desk was not only helpful, she knew exactly how to do it. Took 3 total minutes. I know some others have been having issues, but it looks like it's all about which team member you get!
