I never got around to seeing 3:10 to Yuma in the theater but I will most likely grab this based on the reviews.

I did however see Sunshine in the theater and thought it was a very good movie overall and had spectacular visuals which should make for a terrific Blu-ray release. I am a bit disappointed that it has not received much press however. Not many people have even heard of it and some of those who have got it confused with the movie "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" for some reason. Sunshine is really worth a look if you are a sci-fi fan imo, and I am really looking forward to this Blu-ray the most of those titles listed for release in January.

Sunshine is one of the titles I'm considering. Just wish it wasn't listed at $27.95 on amazon.

Not just his best film. It should be placed in the discussion of best films of the decade.

I still wish that The Pianist received the Oscar for Best Picture and Rob Marshall for Best Director. That, to me, would have been far more accurate. Chicago required much more "direction" than The Pianist did, and there are few years when The Pianist wouldn't be one of the best.

Must haves in HD imho:

Shoot 'Em Up (New Line)

Resident Evil (Sony)

Resident Evil: Extinction (Sony)

3:10 to Yuma (2007) (Lionsgate)

Man on Fire (Fox)

The Rock (Buena Vista)

Sunshine (Fox)

Zodiac: Director's Cut (Paramount)

Monty Python's Life of Brian (Sony)

... I think this list speaks for itself (and when you add the "familly" / niche type of movies like Saw IV and Daddy Day Care, it's a pure slaughter). Expect Toshiba to try something about it though.

P.S: Dang. Just one more in the list and I could have said - Q1 2008 / 9 Out of 10 Good HD movies released were on Blu Ray exclusively.

Not much for me in January, just my opinion though.
Would have bought Zodiac had it been Blu.
Will pick up Four Brothers for my collection.
May pick up Man on Fire and the Rock.

"National Treasure" was delayed til this Summer when Disney intends to make it their first BD-Live title.

BTW, "The Invasion" has been delayed until the 29th.

Of course, that should only add to the carnage the week of the 8th.

Warner co-produced it, and distributed it outside North America. So, it could be heading to Blu-ray elsewhere.

Of course the HD-DVD camp claim they only announce titles closer to the actual release date, but that didn't pan out this Chritmas, why should it happen in Q1.

3:10 to Yuma was exceptional. Christian Bale and Russell Crowe as cowboys.
The Rock stars Nicholas Cage, Ed Harris, and Sean Connerey, was directed by Michael Bay, and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. By far Mr. Bay's best IMHO.
War was with Jet Li and Jason Statham as adversaries, didn't get to see this yet.
I've read that Sunshine is supposed to be top rate sci-fi.
I for one will be buying plenty of these. Yea for me.
You know, I was really looking forward to War when it came to theaters. I mean, Jason Statham and Jet Li kicking the crap out of each other for 2 hours? This is definitely my kind of movie.

Except the movie was a huge dissapointment, chances are it's nothing like you'll hope it to be. It's a shame too.

Short of them going exclusive in January, Warner Bros. could announce a title or two, and Universal might announce a title or two along with Paramount/DreamWorks, but it would take something surprising to affect the sales ratios...

It remains to be seen if Fox actually delivers those titles, but HD DVD should be getting its arse kicked pretty hard in January.

For me :

The Invasion (Warner)
Night of the Werewolf / Vengeance of the Zombies (Deimos)
Sister Street Fighter / Sister Street Fighter 2 (Double Feature) (BCI)

Supporting the little man is important, and those are all great movies.

Yeah, like Toshiba might make Paramount/Dreamworks release Beowulf and Bee Movie in January or February. It wouldn't surprise me at all. Look at how soon Transformers released after its theatrical run. They might just get that desperate.
