If I were HD-DVD, I would be crapping my pants. Two weeks in January with no releases?!? lol! And then you look at their final two weeks in January: -Channels -Method Man: Live from the Sunset Strip -Dispatch: Zimbabwe - Live at Madison Square Garden -King of California How many combined carries are those going to sell? 20? Wow. HD-DVD is going to get smoked in January. And then look at what they have exclusively. Their biggest Exclusive title will be White Noise or Zodiac. Quite impressive, eh? This is going to be AWESOME. Last edited by PS34EVER; 12-03-2007 at 06:08 AM. |

Some jackass actually started a thread yesterday about how there are no good movies coming out on blu-ray at the beginning of next year.
![]() It was such a stupid statement that I didn't even respond. |

Hell yes. I see some 80:20 or even 85:15 coming up. Seriously think about it.
Shoot 'Em Up, War, Resident Evil, Resident Evil Trilogy, & Resident Evil: Extinction vs no HD-DVD releases in the first week! Then, for the last three weeks of January you have the following EXCLUSIVE to each format: Blu-ray releases: Breaker Morant Good Luck Chuck Mr. Woodcock Suburban Girl Went To Coney Island On A Mission From God... Be Back By Five The Game Plan Initial D Saw IV Daddy Day Camp Damages: The Complete First Season Monty Python's Life of Brian HD-DVD Releases: Channels Method Man: Live from the Sunset Strip --- This is just not even going to be close! |

Really wish we had The Pianist though. Roman Polanski may be a serious creap, but he's still an excellent director.
Of course, with 0 titles releasing for 1/2 of January, I'm sure Ill be able to grab it on Blu soon enough ![]() |

Agreed. The Pianist is a masterpiece from Polanski. I'd buy it on BD without thinking twice, but Universal lost my business for the foreseeable future.

I really cannot wait for 3:10 to Yuma, it was easily on my top 3 this year. I expected it to be good, but nowhere near as good as it was.

^+1. 3:10 to Yuma was freakin' sweet.
No Country for Old Men is rumored to be coming in Feb. exclusively to blu and it was my favorite this year. http://www.hidefpreview.com/HD%20Rumors.html Here's a review of it: http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=31411 Last edited by richard lichtenfelt; 12-03-2007 at 06:58 AM. |

Finally i've been waiting for ConAir since last year, and WTF happened to National Treasure? are they waiting for part 2 to release so they can do a 2 pack? lol no titles for 2 weeks, they will problaly spin it and say they care about consumers and sincce they know we just went holiday shopping they want us to recoupirate our funds, and some BS on how BDA hates consumers. sorry for the rant but can't wait for the spin they put on this

Yea, The Pianist is perhaps Polanski's best film. I haven't seen all of his work, but a few of 'em. Cul-de-sac. Rosemary's Baby. The Tragedy of Macbeth. Chinatown. Tess. Le Locataire.
Chinatown was good film noir, great script and structure. Cul-de-sac, a creative mixture of the macabre, dark humor and pathos. But The Pianist is really his most serious. I'll miss not having it on Blu. But when HD DVD dies, they'll make it available hopefully in an uncompressed audio transfer. As for Polanski's personal life, I wouldn't want to go there.
