If I were in the business of selling things to make money, and someone offered me cash to NOT sell something, I would have to know that I was making more money taking the bribe than selling the product I wasnt supposed to. If that changed, I would be out of that deal so fast it would make your head spin!
We dont' know what's in teh contract.

Contract breach is a different matter entirely, and it would most certainly cost them more than the 150$ mill in advertising considerations/etc. For one thing, it means their attorneys actually get to go play in court regarding that contract.

All in all, I don't think those who are actually capable to comment/reflect/discuss the potential of Paramount breaching contract or exercising an out in said contract are legally able to discuss that anyway. I wouldn't get any hopes up, just wait and see.

Little pet peeve of mine is folks trying to skew reporting numbers for their agenda, failing to realize how it devalues their own 'support'.

Not a valid argument come on. 2 or 3% I was being generous. I am amazed at some of the comments here. How someone can say I will have a hard time ever supporting Paramont again is an example is a joke. If you are going to deny yourself movies because of a format is simply crazy. What if and it is a huge what if both formats fail to gain a foot hold in the market. Are you going to not buy from a studio on DVD or what ever the newest and latest and greatest format wins out? Some of the comments here really concern me. I just wish that this whole thing would go the way of DVD-r and DVD+r and just make one and get it over with. This way the consumer wins and gets all his or her movies on one unit. Frankly I do not see an end to this anytime soon. And I mean at least an other year to find a winner if there will be one. Anyway just my thought.

How can someone say they are a movie lover if they refuse to buy from a studio. To me is about the movie like I said. I will buy what I want regardless of what it is on. Maybe being a movie lover is not enough.

Hyperbolic question, if a movie came up, that you liked, but it was only available on VCD. Would you still buy it? Or would you wait for it come out on a format you perfered?

Another hyperbolic question, what if someone you had a personal issue with got 80% of the profit from every purchase of the same title, that you like?

You can love the media, but be frustrated by the politics behind it to make a statement. And in a capitialistic realm, that's the most direct means to actually make a statement.
