Impatience is where they get me. I'd rather watch movies in my home theater than a commercial one, so I grab the first releases ASAP. The Grand Budapest disc should really be cool, if they do it right. It has potentially the largest backstory and number of historical references of any of the Anderson films. Here's hoping they really dig in.

I picked up Grand Budapest when it was $6, knowing fully that there would eventually be a Criterion double dip. The way I see it, the current Budapest uses the original poster artwork and will probably have its own extras. For a cheap enough price, that's worth it to me. Moonrise, on the other hand, never dipped below $10 as far as I know.

Yeah, it was worth $6 to have it on-hand the next few years, for sure.

I knew this one would get a criterion release eventually, If Darjeeling and Mr. Fox which IMO are his lesser works, got a criterion release than Moonrise's was inevitable. My patience has once again paid off. Now bring on The Grand Budapest Hotel

I picked up Moonrise with mint slip for $5 at HMV here in Canada.

Of course, that was less than 2 weeks ago when I bought it... which must have gave Criterion the go ahead to announce it lol So... you're welcome!

Hmm. So it took less than 3 years to get a Criterion release for Moonrise.

Here's hoping Grand Budapest takes half of that! Might be harder with all the Academy nods.

I feel like this has potential of having really cool artwork! I loved all of the locations, visuals and color palettes from this film.

This will be a day one for me! It's one of my favorite films of all time.

Yes, I knew it would get a Criterion release at some point, but I couldn't wait for that, so this will be my third Blu-ray of it (I have the HMV UK release because of the art cards, and the German release because of the B-Roll footage).

I have all Wes Anderson's other Criterion Blu-rays's, so am really looking forward to adding this one. Three years is quicker than I was expecting. I wonder what the cover will look like?

I'm happy that they've added an audio commentary, but I also hope we get some other cool stuff, that they haven't announced yet.

Well, at least Criterion is starting to follow Arrow in some ways...

I'm sure the delay is to further stack the deck with extras, and I'm OK with that.

Highly doubt it's going back to July since it already had its Spine # dropped/replaced.
