Hey guys, just wanted to pop in and share with everyone the brand new cover for Children Shouldn't Play with Dead Things (the original 1-sheet artwork will be available on the reverse wrap). In addition to a ton of bonus content, I am happy to announce I'll be penning the liner notes too.

Geesh, that new 'artwork' (actually just a photo that makes it look like any generic DTV release) is even worse than the original proposed artwork a page or so back, which wasn't that great but still looked retro and decent. At least we can flip the sleeve over for the original poster, though. Now all we have to worry about is the transfer itself.

Have they told you what kind of materials are being used for the movie?

When I think horror and living dead, PORKY'S and CHRISTMAS STORY always come to mind.

That cover art blows hard.

Yeah, I have no idea why they didn't choose Deathdream and Black Christmas instead! At least the reverse blurb mentions the latter, although why have a 'sell blurb' at all on a reverse cover no potential in-store customer (will B & M stores even carry this?) will ever see?

It could just be the quality of the streamed video (or this monitor) accounting for the appearance of noise reduction.

To be honest, even given that, the elements certainly look a damn sight better than the DVD, which was a sneeze better than VHS.

So in about 7 minutes I whipped up a cover I feel is better than the "official" version. Agree? Disagree?

Are other studios now outsourcing their cover designs to Olive Films?

A friend of mine said it looks like Orville took a selfie. Now I can't get that out of my head.

It was also pointed out this cover is a potential spoiler for those who haven't seen the film. Sure that's probably few and far between especially those who want to get it on Blu Ray...but still. Another reason not to love this cover art.

Wow. The new artwork is so awful you almost have to think it's a joke. Who, not just at VCI but in the world, would look at that cover and say "perfect"? I thought the same as other posters with the mention of Porky's & A Christmas Story. What? Everybody would say Black Christmas at least. Everybody.

I love this film - will be a first day buy for me- I'll definitely upgrade -as for the cover art- it's a total spoiler for a newbie.
Then again newbies won't be the largest purchasers!

A classic case of a great title for a very bland film. This is a cult film that I never could get behind. Good luck with the release, anyhow.
