The original Nosferatu is one of my favorite horror films, and I also like the beautifully eerie Herzog remake. Mood and atmosphere might be my two favorite aspects of any horror film, and as Eggers showed admirable talent in both those regards with The VVitch, I'm looking forward to this film.

The make-up it's overscaring, and so maybe it do not work to express other feeling Nosferatu cmay have, making acting more difficult or even not viable.
A sort o "The Lost Boys's Syndrome" : ![]() What about color and image??? Will it be in color with monochrome (sepia etc...) backgrounds??? It can get too werid if the foreground be in color: ![]() Is the image above a test of production? What about the print used for scanning (to get the backgrounds)? Will be from the best print (french one made from camera negative in the 1920's), or the 4K restored film based in that print? Should foreground and backgrond be in B&W/monochrome? Or should they colorize the background and made all in color? |

The Witch was awful. Just didn’t like it at all. Snooze fest from start to finish.

Nosferatu is a classic film and shouldn’t be remade. It just goes to show you that Hollywierd has no originality whatsoever.

It wasn't a bad movie per se, but it just didn't grab me in the way it perhaps it should of, but boy Anya Taylor-Joy was just pure eye candy

Werner Herzog's "Nosferatu: Phantom of the Night" is one of the most atmospheric horror films I've ever seen. It has a mystical, fairytale-like atmosphere. Jonathan Harker's walk to Count Dracula's castle alone has more mood and atmosphere than any horror film released nowadays. I actually prefer the 1979 version over the 1922 version. I loved all of Max Schreck's scenes, but I found the scenes without him dull. Gorgeous Isabelle Adjani has an ethereal quality that Greta Schröder lacked. Klaus Kinski isn't as creepy as Schrek, but I prefer Kinski's portrayal. Herzog's version hypnotized me from start to finish.

Anyway, I though The Witch was alright. Didn’t care too much for The Lighthouse though. I’ll probably still check this out when it comes out, especially if Anya Taylor-Joy is in it. |

The funny thing about the original Nosferatu is that due to its being prosecuted and ordered destroyed early on, and being rejected by censors in some countries, it survived as people kept onto the prints. The British Film Society aquired their print for private showings as it was given to them by the original UK distrubutor as they couldn't clear it with the censors or the Stoker estate.
Even Universal had a print at one point, which they used as reference for their Dracula adaptations, and as clips for the comedy short 'BOO.' Sadly the perfectly legit London after Midnight, MGM's answer to the play Dracula's success on Broadway, is lost to the ages! And so would Nosferatu, if the filmmakers hadn't been daft enough to boast on the posters that their film was "freely adapted" from Dracula! |

Wouldn't any adaptation of Dracula basically be a remake of Nosferatu? Hardly worth clutching any pearls over, IMO. If it's not good, it can easily be ignored (like virtually every remake anyone's ever been angered about existing).
