OK... now somebody to give some support to the "Martin" guy and the news reporter. Yes, there were glaring errors and omissions in that blurbette on TV - but at least some folks who actually watched that local NBC affiliate's "news" that evening at least heard of something called "Blu-Ray". In terms of full disclosure, I live in Charleston, SC and we have 2 Best Buys within reasonable driving distance. I have spoken to reasonably well-educated and well-read folks that have no clue as to what I'm talking about when I invite them home to watch a movie/documentary on Blu-Ray.

In support of Best Buy's sales people: I'm sure that almost every store will have personnel that know what they are talking about and those that can BS with the best of them. The guy at the Magnolia Center here, like Mystic's BF/fiancee (boy, am I jealous of him), knows what he's talking about. But, barely 3 aisles down on the sales floor, another guy is going on about upconverting players and thinner disks, Blu-for-kids, etc.

So, lets do our part - we have gleaned quite a bit from the experts here - lets help the better Best Buy guys by telling potential customers the benefit of Blu-Ray.

"Hi... I'm the store clerk that gave the interview. I actually gave a list to the reporter listing the production companies that put out movies in either blu-ray, hd dvd, or both. I swear I listed 20th Century Fox at the top of the Blu-Ray list, and also suggested that she have the list (along with another outline I drew up for her) available on the web-site. There was a lot more to the interview, but I guess it was edited for convenience. Also, the discs are not the same size originally. The Blu-Ray is thinner, as in depth, but is made thicker by a special coating - which I mentioned in the interview. "

I do like how the interview editing cut him off part way through his sentences. That's basically saying the reporter isn't important enough to get enough airtime for a proper interview
