A Morgan Creek re obtained the rights to most of their productions from Warner, they made a bold attempt to get as much cash as they could (MC has financial issues) and split up their film rights to many different companies upon various distribution platforms instead of a package with certain films. In the US, Miramax and Entertainment One control streaming and TV rights, while Westchester Films (in conjunction with Shout! Factory) holds video rights to certain titles. Revolution Films owns International TV and Streaming rights, but its not known who holds videogram rights there.
It seems that every title is not licensed to just one company, but to several different ones on various platforms depending on the title. I once saw a HD streaming print of The Crush that used the same source as the Shout! BD, but opened up with the current E1 logo while retaining the Warner/MC indents. It could be that Sony bought the US DVD and/or (possibly) BD rights to certain Morgan Creek titles instead of all of them (otherwise, Exorcist III and Nightbreed would've been through Sony instead). |

I think this could be from Sony proper because a number of Morgan Creek titles have started showing up on Crackle, Sony's streaming service. Chill Factor, Juwanna Mann and True Romance can be seen now; and I've seen the Ace Ventura films, Silent Fall and The Art of War cycle through in recent months as well.

With the release date of the Ace Ventura DVD's approaching, there is still no concrete information on if it's Sony proper or Sony simply distributing for another company.
However, I did just find someone who captured logos from Crackle's print of Ace Ventura: Pet Detective and it does have an eOne logo before the Warner Bros. logo. This does seem to suggest that eOne is licensing the Morgan Creek library and Sony is simply distributing. |

I'd guess it's similar to Stage 6/Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions for theatrical releases in that it's a distribution label for companies not owned by Sony (such as eOne, Cohen Media Group, and even Criterion).
So I'd be surprised if Sony was even mentioned on the covers or discs of these releases outside of "distributed through" or "distributed under license by". |

No you're right. Morgan Creek doesn't handle the home video distribution of Young Guns 1 and never has. Still resides with Lionsgate in some/most territories and their current Blu in the US is still in print.
