Thank You Button

Not sure if it's just my acct access or the site, but I cannot select the Thank You option in any open forum.

There is a limit of 10 per day. Have you gone beyond that?

I must have. Didn't realize it was a limited option.
So if you exceed 10 Thank You's it disables the TU icon?

There have been a few of these threads, including (I think) one from me. Any chance of raising the limit to 15? Would lead to a lot less confusion and virtually eliminate these types of questions. I was going to suggest removing the limit entirely, but I assume it's there for a reason, whatever that is.

I've asked for it to be increased about 2 months ago, but it's obviously not a priority. I'll bring it up again, but I won't be pushing our Admin team to do so. They have enough to deal with.

I think 10 is enough per day tbh. Most members tend to post way less than we see. I don't think 5 more will make threads like these disappear, instead once they reach the new 15 then they will ask what happened to the thanks button.


I do think the thanks button should be name changed to something more universal to a "like" button instead. Sometimes I click on a thanks just because something was interesting/cool/funny and not because it truly helped me.

The Thanks button will not display for you on your own posts and won’t display if you’ve already marked a post as Thanks.

There is also a limit to the number of posts you can thank in a day. At one point the limit was 10; however, we aren’t sure what the limit is now.

Is it possible that the answer is one of the items I mentioned above?

Not sure of the upper limit but it's >30.

Have done a thread search in the Feedback sub-forum for threads about the Thanks button, and among the search results this seemed the best one to post in.

Would like to suggest something regarding the Thanks button: a search function where you can look for Thanks added by a specific member (currently that's not available).

And one other thing, I don't think a Thanks added to a post is a waste when you quote that post and reply to it.

Following on from the above, quoted post (if that's allowed in Feedback), you can view from the 'Most recent forum activity' section the threads where members have added Thanks to posts you've made. There is also the section via your community profile where you can see a list of the posts where the Thanks have been added.

But there isn't an option where you can see how many Thanks an individual member has added to your posts, as well as the last time they added a Thanks.

I've been thanking older posts as I'm catching up on the Discotek thread in the anime subforum and hit the daily limit.

I was worried that something was wrong with my profile, so I'm glad that's not the case.
