As I posted in the 2015 thread, I watched the movie for the first time when it hit VOD. My initial reaction was one of contempt and hatred as I never liked the franchise and this film was no exception.

However, since my viewing, I have seen vast amounts of praise on the film and I questioned my original perspective. You can tell that Miller crafted the film with great attention and care in terms of its story and its presentation.

I'm just simply at a loss of words and am really tempted to throw it back on again.

Awesome. I saw it the day it came out in theaters, and I didn't really know much about it going in, as I avoided trailers, etc..Just knew that it was critically acclaimed. At first, I wasn't sure I was into it, but once things got moving, it just never relented, and it was just an exhilarating movie to see. Beautifully shot, with some amazing color choices used. Saw it in 3D, which I thought was pretty good, but not very necessary for the experience. Can't wait to revisit it on BD.

Much better than I was expecting based on the bland trailers. (The title also changed about four times during production. Clearly they had no idea how to market this thing.) It's comparable in quality to the last two Mission: Impossibles -- maybe not quite as good, but damn close -- and didn't deserve to flop.
