Since it's not coming out day/date with the BD, I would say it's future is uncertain. I wouldn't be surprised if the whole series got the UHD treatment someday (just like 007), but who knows when that might be? At least we get a Dolby Atmos soundtrack on the BD (which is more than you can say for some of the initial UHD releases).

I'll pass on this, the 2nd book was 400 pages and a good 2nd film was made. The 3rd book again was 400 pages and Hollywood in a cash grab decided to draw out the story to 2 films and 4 hours and 22 minutes. This would have made a much better 2 1/2 hour movie one shot movie.

Any news on whether this is still coming out on UHD?

Trying to decide on whether to buy this on Blu-ray. I'd rather buy it on UHD.

Not sure why Lionsgate wouldn't release one of their top tier titles on 4K UHD.

I suspect they are planning some special release with all the 4 movies in UHD. And naturally people would be more inclined to buy that one if they haven't already bought Part 2 separately.
Still a bit weird though, but then again, they might have started fixing the first movie a while ago, and are just doing them in order from there.

I really want the last one on UHD & I feel like it's a missed opportunity for Lionsgate.

Nice to see Mockingjay Part 2 finally hit a lower price. Brings the total for all four films (when purchased individually) to 73.84 on Amazon.com

I'm only 40 minutes into this movie (out of 145), and this one does look fantastic at times. The Arial shots are beautiful and clean and super sharp. I do think this 1 beats MJ1 in PQ because it's more outside in daylight which makes the PQ shine a little more. The contrast is very strong making everything pop with dimension during most scenes, im expecting the PQ to get better as the movie progresses but I'll have to finish in a few hours.
