Default The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 (2015) 4K UHD

There's been no official announcement by Lionsgate but amazon.ca lists a 4K + Blu-ray + Digital Copy combo pack of Mockingjay 2:
http://www.amazon.ca/Hunger-Games-Mo...2515879&sr=8-1

Did they make a mistake or did they just list it too early?

With the massive banding Mochkingjay 1 had on Blu-ray this could be a great improvement.

Lionsgate is known for banding. A 4K version should help hide their issues.

The whole scene where they blow up the dam has some of the worse banding i've seen from a bluray.

Lionsgate is going full speed ahead with UHD blu-ray, so it would surprise me far more if they didn't release this.

I think the bit when they're dropping into the tribute centre to rescue Peeta is even worse, those shots of the dark Capitol sky are absolutely horrendous. Lionsgate are soooo bad at this Blu-ray lark that I'm not convinced that UHD will be able to help them, not unless they can hire compressionists who know their arse from their elbow.

Yeah that's the part i meant. The red flashlights had them too. I thought something was wrong with my TV.

You're not the only one, there's an LG OLED thread going crazy right now at the AVF because of how awful the banding is on that movie (they initially thought it was the TV, OLEDs not being great for banding especially at near black, until my Blu-ray review steered them around again).

Think I'll keep my distance from Lionsgate after their launch BDs went belly up.

Is that what is causing my US Version of American Psycho to not play? Tried this on my BDP-103D and it just will not play

I think a corollary question is: will the BD have an Atmos (or DTS:X) soundtrack? I'd say it's a given the UHD will.

There was a post here a minute ago showing comparisons from different regions. Don't why it got deleted.

The Japanese bluray seems to have gotten the better encode-

The Japanese Blu-ray was made by Sony, not Lionsgate.

Did I miss something? Has Lionsgate announced some UHD Blu-ray titles?

not individual titles, but they said something to the effect of "we're releasing a ton of titles on UHD."

I deleted it because I thought that some people might not appreciate seeing a conversation about the Mockingjay part 1 Blu-ray in the Mockingjay part 2 UHD Blu-ray thread. Stating that Lionsgate Blu-ray releases often have banding issues and UHD Blu-ray could improve this is one thing, but thought having a full discussion about it and posting images might be taking things a little off topic. I don't have an issue with it personally, I was just trying to be considerate and respectful to all members.

Yeah I know.

Don't know what's going on over at Lionsgate.

Lionsgate won't be announcing the UHD release with the regular Blu/DVD release. I've reached out to my contact at the studio about what's happening with this, so let's see wht they say...

Yes.

Let's just hope Lionsgate has got their act together after 10 years now.
