I kinda doubt it was rec709. That was true of Attack of the Clones (according to John Knoll's 365 book), but almost a decade later one would hope they'd moved slightly further ahead in terms of capturing the wider colour gamut.

ABSOLUTELY. You cannot believe how happy I am about this having Atmos. All my efforts in planning the next iteration of my home rig will pay off with this.

Oblivion was shot with Sony F65. That camera had 14 stops of dynamic range and colour gamut close to Rec. 2020

However, once you add in the digital effects, and there are many in this film, these shot-in-4k movies will tend to be rendered out at 2k.

2K, but it doesn't lose out on the dynamic range and colour gamut. The DCP specs even at 2K still exceeds the capability of regular Blu-ray. So the UHD BD should still be stellar quality.

I mistyped, and close to does not mean it was shot or mastered that way

This is already a top notch 1080p blu, but if it includes the IMAX shots, I will be upgrading. Visually it's sublime and though I love it, that will be the one thing that inclines me to double dip on the UHD disc

Of course not- that would be a useful thing to do.
