I also have this same problem at Future Shop, just keep it in one place and leave it at that. Worst of all sometimes I am more knowledgeable about Blu Ray than some orf the employees.

Did any one see the post of The Simpsons in the HD DVD (not Best Buy) section no wonder people are confused if the stores that sell the formats can't even get it straight.

I did that. It just seemed that the moron's head was a brick and he had already made up his mind to continue being confused. I just had to give up. the conversation with the guy was going nowhere.

Heh, I had folks at Circuit City tell me that Spiderman didn't come in a boxset on blu-ray, just DVD, right when they were next to the big standing display that had the price and such for the BD version of the boxset.

Once you point to the Sony logo on Underworld (and many other Sony movies on Blu-ray), how the hell could he argue with that?

It sounds to me like these employees are more lazy than anything else. I work at a Hollywood Video and if I am having a bad day and someone calls the store looking for a movie, even if I am holding the movie in my hand, I still say its not in stock. And I KNOW I am not the only employee that does this.

If I worked at Best Buy and didnt care about the format war I see myself telling somone looking for a movie on Blu-ray that it was HD DVD exclusive just so he/she would go away.

Most of the best buy employees at my local BB are of school age. Which there is nothing wrong with that but most don't know how to add or subtract properly .Let alone know whats available on blu ray or that other format.

Working at BB i can tell you they get little or no training on releases and HD formats.
They just have a planogram and what should be on it.

HD format movies are not on planograms usually and since usually its not very many of them they recieve, they probably don't even notice it's released... or in past cases they put them on the shelves and break release dates.

Most are lazy, most just don't know, and most don't want to dig through 85 boxes in the wharehouse when it's only 3 poeple in the whole dept..... it's xmas guys, give them a break theyre over run probably 100 customers to 1 employee
