In no particular order

The Exorcist (also in my list of top ten movies of all time)

Carrie 1976 (scariest scene)

Halloween 1978 (best slasher of all time)

Pieces 1982 (favourite grindhouse film)

American werewolf in London (not a fan of werewolf movies but this is the best)

Lifeforce (1985) (ULTIMATE GUILTY PLEASURE! -Maybe not horror..but space vampires...so?)

Lake Mungo 2008 (documentary style - needs to be watched right to the end of the credits..Haunts me to this day)

Friday the 13th part 4 (series should have ended right there)

A nightmare on elm street ( the original)

Let the right one in 2008 (Swedish)(less horror than twisted love story - shame that American prudishness meant that the most shocking plot point had to be left out of the remake, which was nevertheless, a fine offering in it's own right

My 10 Favorite Horror Blu-Ray Gems

An incredible release.. and considering the David Lynch short films that are included, wow. When I think about it.. Just, Wow! I remember when all of this stuff was relegated to super rare VHS and people bought and traded bootleg copies for up to $50. Being able to pull out this beautiful digi-pack and view these things in such pristine quality is amazing to me.

I love this restoration, I really do. Yea it's not perfect but this is one of the few titles I actually like the DNR.. yea I know. Maybe it's just interesting to me that this film looks like it was shot yesterday when I view it. The digi-book is actually quite cool and informative.

The ultimate example of a lost Slasher gem brought back to life in full uncut HD glory. This film is just cool and the overall packaging with the insightful booklet and slipcover is glorious. 2 versions of the film even..

What I just said about The Mutilator.. but all over again. I worship Arrow for releases like this. We live in great times, fellow fans.

My favorite Cronenberg title.. this film gets under my skin and I find it quite disturbing to this day. A worthy entry and best horror title in The Criterion BD line-up IMO. The extras are superb.. never thought I'd see the day The Brood would be treated with such love and respect.

The GOAT Fulci movie.. and the best pure splatter flick ever if you ask my humble opinion. Grindhouse knocked this release out of the park. I fawn over this thing like it is pure gold.

It seems like I've bought this film so many times and watched it over so many Halloweens but it never gets old. This release is the ultimate definitive release of an all-time splatter classic beyond anything we ever thought we'd behold.. this movie rocks so much it's ridiculous.

My favorite Scream Factory releases to this day.. I wanted to post The Prowler but I am already not giving Scream Factory enough love and they deserve a ton of it. This movie is badass.. It was made at a perfect time when slashers still took themselves seriously and tried to have characters you cared about.. but then upped the kills to something that was truly shocking. Notable for being one of the very first, if not the first Weinstein movies, I love how this just goes all in avoiding the usual unintentional cheese we come to expect. They set out to deliver a slasher to top the slashers of its day and it succeeds.

Wow was I greatly impressed with this release. I hadn't seen the film in a long time but IMO it really holds up and is quite a bit better than the commonly touted as better-than remake.. not so. This movie is grindhouse to the core and just as brutal.. the booklet is really cool and insightful and all the other bells and whistles including a poster, slipcase and badass foreign lobby cards are just icing on the cake.

The GOAT horror movie in my world.. and you couldn't ask for a better package. Much love to Shout/Scream Factory for putting all the time, care and investment into this thing. Yea it can be faulted for being a 2K scan when they could have went 4K - but the fact of the matter is we have never seen The Thing look like this and I for one hold no quarter to sing the highest praises for this release.
