Wow, the regular version is really stripped down to the minimum. Did this not even get a Dolby Atmos mix?

Are you sure, even articles I've seen recently have mentioned an Atmos mix.
Plus, AMC Village on the Parkway 9 in Dallas will get a 120/2k/3D HDR Dolby Vision version in its Dolby Cinema, and AFAIK there has yet to be a Dolby Vision theatrical title without a corresponding Atmos mix. But I suppose it is possible that the domestic Atmos release could be limited to just that one screen, and the 120/4k/3D showing I saw at Lincoln Screen was not in that complex's Atmos screen. |

Regular DCPs don't actually come with Atmos, do they? I've seen Auro on some but never Atmos. It requires proprietary decoding and playback and has to be run separately AFAIK, whereas the 5.1/7.1 on DCPs is format-agnostic PCM (with Auro squeezed on there via some encoding trickery).

Is member Esox50 (from the Chicago ‘burbs) still reading this forum? If not, any Chicagoans in attendance?
Speak to the manager or projectionist about whether the following DCP (120fps 2D 2K) is correct for exhibition at the Glenview location? Alchemy, etc. servers at that site? ![]() https://www.arclightcinemas.com/movi...-halftime-walk |

Given this is Sony, I'm gonna guess it's got UHD, Blu-ray 3D, and Blu-ray 2D copies each on their own disc. The frame rate is anyone's guess, I'm assuming 24 for all of them.

It wasn't that good of a movie. It was supposed to be somewhat darkly satirical, but Lee tried to do it as a straight drama with only a few seasoned actors. The movie needed to go in a different direction. |

I'm really tired of the HFR bashing as well. It seems to me that the only argument for keeping 24fps is that "it's the way it's always been done". Does that mean it's the only way things should ever be? Why are people so scared of change?
In my opinion, the end goal of movies/tv is to immerse the viewer in the story as much as possible - and what better way to do that than to make the content look more like real life? Real life definitely isn't at 24fps! That's what 3D, HDR, and higher resolutions are all about. I know from watching the first Hobbit in 48fps that it takes some getting used to, but after about 15minutes of it looking like it was constantly on fast forward my eyes adjusted and I started seeing the amazing amount of extra detail that the higher framerate allowed - like seeing the individual hairs on the wargs, even when they were running full speed! Isn't that amount of immersion worth taking a little time to get used to it? |

Well.... Considering that Sony literally dumped the movie on its wide release this WE (only 1100 + theaters), and that it's bombing with only 2 to 3 M projected for the WE, I doubt that they will bother putting out an HFR version on the UHD, I can only see them releasing a regular 24 fps version.
