Sounds like this movie has nice PQ & AQ, but so many new movies seem so derivative and phoned-in.

The new Jason Bourn movie almost sounds worse in that regard as well.

I definitely feel it's inferior to the first. I really liked the first film, it wasn't as action packed as most action films go but the mystery was intriguing enough to sustain it and it had a few very well done segments. This film was moderately enjoyable at best but I feel like it wasn't edited all that well. It was also lacking a touch of style, in the first film you got that creepy sniper opening which was later revisited in an interesting way. This film, I really can't think of any particular scene that stood out so it's just unremarkable. The opening scene is pretty emblematic of the whole film, it opens on a whimper that was just plain boring (if you've seen the trailer, you've seen the entire confrontation, no tension at all).

I did like that Cobie Smulders finally got to kick some butt, she's been rather underutilized in the Avengers franchise, and the kid was actually useful in a few parts instead being the annoying sidekick for the entire film.

Not that I can champion an entire film based off of it, but I'll never be able to get the shot of Cruise busting through a car window to strangle the driver out of my mind because, in real life, God bless America, that would hurt like a sumbeech!

Reality bends to the Cruise Missile.

Picked up the Best Buy Steelbook. Good movie. Not as great as the original but still a fun film.

This is not as good as the first Reacher film. I actually hope they make another because it's often the sophomore effort that is disappointing. Big fan of the first film.

Is there even a WM exclusive? The picture shows the same booklet that comes with all standard BD/DVD combos, including the non-4K SB.

They're trying to say,
"Look, there's not going to be many 4K titles. It is just a jumping off point for 8k. Buy the 1080p Blu-ray"

Haha, that reminds me of Last Action Hero. When Arnold is in the "film" world, he punches through windows all the time, then when he tries it in the "real" world, he's like "ouch, that hurt, I'm bleeding!"

So is that the best scene of the movie Jack Reacher: Once You Go Black, You'll Never Go Back?

Debatable, but it's certainly the one that made me say, "Yep, that's definitely the badass from the first film!"

As soon as I saw that in the trailer, I was sold.

It's like the one punch knockout used in the trailer ANNND the menu for Jason Bourne. Made me want to see it.
However, we know the punch angle and sound ends up completely different in Bourne's actual film

Just watched it and given the negative reviews I've read and "it's not as good as the first one" I thought it was an excellent film as good as the first one.

Nothing new or clever about this film, just a good action film for a Saturday night.

I knew the critics on Rotten Tomatoes wouldn't like it but I was surprised the audience didn't give it a Fresh rating.

I watch a lot of cop shows on TV and cop/hero movies and this one is on the right side of me, thumbs up.

To give you an example of what I thought was an awful terrible action film: 3 Days To Kill starring Kevin Costner. I'll always give the benefit of the doubt to the cop/hero action film but this was bad. Taken 2 was godawful but Taken 3 which didn't get great reviews was much better and should have been Taken 2.

I'm glad I bought the steelbook too and looking forward to the next one.

I'll need to watch it again but I'm pretty sure he has a salt shaker between his fingers which breaks the glass.

I watched it a few nights ago and I could see the complaints about the girl. I enjoyed the first one much more, it had more of a serious tone.

I guess if I had to rate this I would say that you can't have a Tom Cruise movie without him sprinting in it.

Yeah, he does. You can see it clearly when he says he doesn't like being followed.

Although I guess his knuckles hit some glass cuz they're red the next day when he's back in the Army office.

I saw this in the theatre and liked it. I have watched it twice this week with different friends and I think it's a decent movie. The Atmos mix is very underwhelming though.
