It's worth a watch, I really liked it but it's definitely not as good as the first. Still very much a throwback-type action movie, and TC is still a damn good Reacher.

I'm a huge Tom Cruise fan, mainly because that guy loves movies and you can tell. If Cruise is involved, I can rest assured knowing that it's going to be a high quality project that I will at least think is "really good" and, often, "amazing". I loved the first "Jack Reacher" movie.

As if I needed more proof that 2016 was a terrible year, this Jack Reacher movie broke Cruise's long-running streak with me (even his lesser efforts like "Knight and Day" may have been slightly disappointing, but still pretty good). I just could not believe it. Did I think it was terrible? No. Not "terrible". But, it was so unlike any other Cruise movie. It was just so average and Cruise could not save it... well, maybe he kinda did, because I think it normally would've been "terrible" instead of "incredibly mediocre". The actual material was worthy of a Nicolas Cage direct-to-video effort.

Opinions on whether NEVER GO BACK is good or bad are split 50/50, but 100% believe it's inferior to the first.
