For some reason, preorders of Disney-released titles aren't live on Amazon. (No preorder for Moana or Queen of Katwe, either.) I wonder if this is some weird beef between them or Amazon doubling down on making those titles exclusive for Prime members (which then sends buyers to Target, Best Buy, etc.).

I'm thinking there's a problem between Disney and Amazon again. It feels similar to what happened a couple years ago, when they had a disagreement over Disney's home media and Amazon didn't do pre-orders on some of their films until the problems were solved. With Doctor Strange, Queen of Katwer, Moana, and Pinnochio all awaiting pre-order options on Amazon, it seems like the most likely possibility imo.

NZ and Aus sites have 01/03/17 as the release date, so the Wednesday before the UK. Although I have the steel pre-ordered through Zavvi so I'll have to wait until then anyway. The US is generally a couple of weeks after, so sometime in mid-March for there I'm assuming.

Agreed. I say no chance. Annoying though the initial pre order listings indicate a digital copy. The same thing is happening with Moana I believe.

Great - now that I think of it, how will target manage to mess up this preorder??

And if you want the digital copy with the disc, get the 3D version as it's the only one to come with it. Marvel's been doing this since Thor: The Dark World and with every thread about every Marvel Studios movie release, someone will always ask if or assume that the digital copy comes with the 2D solo Blu-Ray.

Also, 2D Blu-Ray will not have a slip. This is exclusive to the 3D version.

And unless Disney/Marvel start releasing 4K discs, there won't be a 4K release.

If you use Amazon, preorder as soon as it becomes available in case they pull that "exclusively for Prime members" stunt again. If you preorder with Amazon, it's basically guaranteed you'll only pay $19.99 for the 3D version as it dips to that price at some point.

That's what happens when I think, "Oh, I don't need to put that on every page..."

Moana should come with one since digital copies have been standard for Disney/Pixar animated releases recently. The digital copy being exclusive to the 3D edition has only been with the Marvel releases.
