Yes there is a lot of exciting imagery in the movie that could be used for a multitude of steelbooks so can't wait to see what they come up with for this one.

They always list them like that when they put up the Marvel Movie pre-orders but when they come out its either just the single disc Bluray or 3D Bluray/2D Bluray combo pack.

We've seen it twice, and recommend the 3-D over the 2-D, which I never do. The Ditko-inspred stuff is truly stunning in 3-D.

They don't do it much anymore -- and they didn't do it with Ant-Man, which should have been a no-brainer -- but Doctor Strange calls for a 3D lenticular cover.

Can't say - nearest imax is over two hours away, so I had to go with regular 3-d. If there was a nearby imax, I'd definitely go for it.

Yes. The more fantastical scenes are amazing in IMAX 3D.

Definitely. An hour of the film is in the 1.90 ratio for IMAX, and being that the film clocks in at 1hr 55m that makes it over half of it. I've seen it at IMAX three times and once in a regular 2D showing, and the former is superior in every way.

Speaking of the IMAX AR, thank god Marvel have been releasing their films with VAR on blu, it would be such a step down if I couldn't own this with the AR shift. Well, I'm assuming they'll have it on this one since they've already done it for GotG and Civil War, fingers crossed that it continues.

Probably the first time seeing a movie with VAR and not even noticing when the screen expanded, but that's because I was so immersed in the insane imagery that was on-screen. 3D Steelbook day one, no questions asked. My favorite MCU origin story since Captain America.

Well, looks like this is going to be the first MCU movie I will ever buy on Blu. I absolutely loved this from beginning to end. Shame I couldn't see it in IMAX, but frankly, I felt I got my money's worth by seeing in regular 2D anyway.

Might be the best IMAX 3D experience I've had since Gravity. Might try to see it again, definitely not something that can be replicated at home.

And if you want the digital copy with the disc, get the 3D version as it's the only one to come with it. Marvel's been doing this since Thor: The Dark World and with every thread about every Marvel Studios movie release, someone will always ask if or assume that the digital copy comes with the 2D solo Blu-Ray.

Also, 2D Blu-Ray will not have a slip. This is exclusive to the 3D version.

And unless Disney/Marvel start releasing 4K discs, there won't be a 4K release.

If you use Amazon, preorder as soon as it becomes available in case they pull that "exclusively for Prime members" crap. If you preorder with Amazon, it's basically guaranteed you'll only pay $19.99 for the 3D version as it dips to that price at some point.
