Just want to remind Japanese film fans that After the Storm blu-ray from Film Movement just got released. Please do support releases like these so there is more reason for companies like Film Movement or Olive Films to obtain rights and release them on blu-ray.

My order of the film came in and about to watch it. I concur with this statement as there are not enough Japanese releases in the states.

I really hope companies like Film Movement and Arrow continue with what they are doing.

You all keep mentioning titles I might have missed, and I'll keep supporting them.

UK seems to get a little bit better support for some of the classic Japanese stuff. Seriously, how the hell has Tetsuo not made it here? Gross. It's gross. And the sub-par Sion Sono releases are driving me crazy.

As far as I can tell, the TAG blu-ray never actually was released, only the DVD. I had my order cancelled from multiple retailers and now it's showing out of stock everywhere.

Eureka in the UK is going to be releasing this film now though, so that's even better than a BD-R.

It's good to see more rarities getting released, and I'll probably buy this set (cause how else can I see these films?), but I really wonder if these won't be a chore to sit through, lol.

I wish they'd release Pistol Opera.

So updated the list. Nothing new announced recently, but Hana-Bi came out yesterday and the picture quality is stellar! Hope they release more Kitano films soon!

Updated to include ICHI THE Killer, and BLADE OF THE IMMORTAL.

Hope we get even more Miike films in the near future. Not sure what's going on with Arrow as they were on a role with Japanese films, and it's gotten a bit quiet, especially since they have the rights to a few more Japanese films.

Aww yee, Duke. You are the wind beneath my wings. I'm hoping Ichi looks better than the previous release.

I think Arrow slowed down on Japanese stuff because they aren't selling. UK releases seem to go a little better for foreign lately.

It's a shame that they aren't selling. The BATTLES WITHOUT HONOR boxset did really well for them, so I was hoping the NEW BATTLES would do the same, but it seems like it didn't reach the same numbers.

I know they have the rights to a few more Fukasaku films, so hopefully they release those.

Thanks for updating this thread. Only four upcoming releases? Wow, sad... Third Window's slate alone is more exciting than all US companies combined.

There must be more... I think Film Movement is releasing "Oh, Lucy!" but that doesn't have a release date yet... Barefoot Gen is coming, but I don't think you're counting anime in this thread...

Oh, oh, I found one! March 6th, "Gintama": https://www.amazon.com/Gintama-Blu-ray/dp/B077447G3X

And January 2nd, Miss Zombie! SABU film. That's legit. https://www.amazon.com/Miss-Zombie-B...dp/B077SS94B8/

And in case anyone missed it, Twilight Time recently released "The Yellow Handkerchief" and "The Emperor in August". Also, Shinoda and Ichikawa films were included in Criterion's Olympics set...

Awesome. I forgot about GINTAMA and didn't know MISS ZOMBIE was coming out. Updated.

I can't wait for a release of Blade of the Immortal. Saw it on the big screen on Thanksgiving and it was such a blast to watch. Kinda reminded me of Miike's 13 Assassins on speed.

So this in regard to the third Outrage film which I really hope gets a release in the states.

So, I contacted Celluloid Dreams which is handling sales of the third film for the international market, and nobody has bought the rights in the US yet, which is a shame, since I assumed Magnolia would finish the trilogy. However, it doesn't hurt to contact Magnolia to show that there is interest in the film.

Please contact them to show interest, and their e-mail is acquisitions@magpictures.com. Lets get this film out!
