Hope there is a normal release too. Never been a great fan of steel books.

Ultimately though, very excited. Christmas is sorted.

Not that I'm complaining, even as someone who isn't watching 4K yet, if WB is going to show preference, then I'd prefer it was to the UHD discs.

And of course. this is a day one purchase.
Warners love to bitstarve their TV stuff on Blu-ray though, so 10+ hours of show plus all the extras on three discs sounds about right to me. But 3x triple stackers for the UHD, now THAT's what I call music. This being a TV show I can't see it having a ton of alternative language options on disc though, not the double-figures of the average Warners movie release anyways.

Maybe after all the seasons have been put out by HBO? Hopefully.

Interesting. I'm usually against buying TV Shows on disc but the jump from HBO Now to 4K is a lot bigger than HBO Now to BD. I probably will snag this because I loved the first season and I'd be really surprised if the show ends up going past this 2 more seasons at most (extremely expensive, a pretty self-contained story).

Floodgates seem to be opening for 4K, pretty exciting.

Exactly what I was thinking, it seems like the trickle is gonna become a flood over these next few months and years.

If all those rumored WB titles come through in October, I'm gonna have to take a small loan.

I'm saving up already. Hopefully Warners will put out all those Nolans in a boxset though.

Even if it does indeed turn out to be a 2K DI, I will be all over this! In fact, I already preordered it because it will be a nice improvement over my DVR and HBO Go streams plus the addition of lossless audio and HDR grading.

Excellent news! Watched the entire season once but do fancy watching it again. If the 4K version is a decent upgrade vs the regular bluray, I'm all in.

The list of languages is either wrong or incomplete. It's highly unlikely there are German subtitles without German audio.

For those interested, the press release lists the bonus material as about 95 minutes. A number of the listed features are already on the North American iTunes release, and account for just over an hour (60:23) of that:

Welcome to Westworld (7:41)
Crafting the Narrative (29:15)
An Invitation to The Set (2:14)
Welcome to Westworld: About the Series (2:11)
Reality of A.I.: Westworld (4:28)
"The Big Moment" featurettes:
[Show spoiler]- Bernard Faces an Unlikely Saboteur (1:21)
- Teddy Versus the Man in Black (1:56)
- A Host Self-Sabotages (1:53)
- Maeve Gets An Answer (1:36)
- Dr Ford's Blood Sacrifice (1:36)
- The Truth About Bernard (2:21)
- Dr Ford's New Narrative (3:51)

The new features should therefore constitute about 35 mins of content, so I imagine the breakdown will be something like:

Inside Look with Jonah Nolan and Lisa Joy - Season One (New Featurette) (~5-7 mins)
Imagining the Main Title (New Featurette) (~5-7 mins)
The Key to The Chords (New Featurette) (~5-7 mins)
2017 Comic Con Panel (New) (~10-15 mins)
Gag Reel (New) (~5 mins)

They have story outlines for at least 5 seasons. Of course, that doesn't mean it will make it that far, but as long as people watch and enjoy it, I think it will

Now GoT 4k, that would be a day 1 preorder.
The first four episodes are actually excellent, but you won't appreciate them until you've finished watching it. Westworld went form being a show I watched out of boredom in the first half of the season to my favorite show by the second half. I've already rewatched it on streaming and I can't wait to rewatch it again in 4k.

It appears to be a tin, not a Steelbook, so if you don't like the tin, you can sell it or something and just keep the case inside.

...unless it's a tin like Band of Brothers, where the inside is attached to the surrounding tin.

Probably like this...
D1 - Episodes 1-4
D2 - Episodes 5-8
D3 - Episodes 9-10 + Special Features
