If a blu-ray of the old MTV shorts and the subsequent series comes out, i'll be all over it.

Been holding off on the DVD for years now.

I just bought the DVD set a month or two ago when a few copies randomly appeared at my local WalMart for only $13. At that price I wouldn't mind rebuying it on Blu-ray. Apparently, one was announced back in 2009 but then never came out.

Watching the Blu-ray of this movie, it’s kind of dated, with its old MPEG-2 encode and lossy audio on a BD-25, I’m hoping we get a new version someday.

I grew up with the Liquid TV shorts as a kid in the early 90s and i was 14 when the spin-off show where they spoke came out on MTV and one of my favorite adult animated shows, the movie was a total letdown for me.

An uncut version of this would be awesome. I saw not too long ago that the director (Karyn Kusama) shot a much more graphic (violent/sexy) version of the film, that was according to her statements, much more in line with the tone of the animated shorts that aired on Liquid Television. She said the theatrical version of the movie was almost unrecognizable from what she had intended and the studio had essentially stolen the production from her. I'd be all in on this original version if it was anything at all like the animated show.

There's a new version released on March 15, 2022 and I was about to order it when I noticed in the picture, the Bluray name and not the logo.

Is looks like a BD-R and not a pressed disc. If so, I thought about ordering a previous version that is pressed (April 26, 2017):

This was upgraded to 4K recently on most streaming platforms, so I would hold off as a UHD release might be on the table.

Turned 4K Dolby Vision few months ago (iTunes).

First line is when it was HD. Second line is when it turned 4K DV.

I took a peek to see how it looks because I wasn't expecting Paramount to throw this movie any more bones after the BD release and it actually looks quite good.

It's definitely the 2K DI, not a 4K scan/rebuild, but it's handled really well, similar to Tomb Raider 2. I'd love to see this on disc.

Yep like Stardust, Spiderwick Chronicles, Last Fart Bender and few others, this looks like a 2K DI upscale but most importantly it does look good.

I will try the disc when it is like £10 as the movie was pants lol but only paid £2.99 for the stream so can't complain.
