That was one great monster design.

I watched all three of these movies a couple years ago. All of them had strengths. I think I liked the second one the best. The third was easily the worst, but it still was worth watching. For Michael Moriarty in full Moriarty mode, if nothing else.

I still think the preorder price on shout is actually very good considering you get it 2 weeks early

I hope there's some really good extras with this set. Really looking forward to this!
Ya, the third one went straight to video, and was one of two films Cohen did for Warner in 1987, with A Return to Salem's Lot, also straight to video and featuring Michael Moriarty, and played more for laughs. I like them all, though, but 1 and 2 are far superior to 3. I'm beyond thrilled by this news.

Thumbs up

Very happy with this news! I've always enjoyed the first two films. Part 3, and the remake, not so much.

Hopefully, with these making their Blu-ray debuts, Shout can work with the original materials, and show what they can really do. No excuses for these not looking and sounding great.

The original Splatterhouse video game used the baby as inspiration.

Both IT'S ALIVE and IT LIVES AGAIN have been playing on MGM-HD for at least 5 years now, and they look pretty damn good. Have both recorded on the DVR.

Probably their best title announcement in over a year! I've been wanting to check all of these out for years. It'd be cool if they could do an Xtro trilogy as well.

It's Alive was a Movie Channel regular in the early 80's. Watched it every time it was on. A daddy's love for his baby, lol.

I've mentioned this before but IT'S ALIVE was one of the first movies I can remember seeing in the drive-in theater. I believe it was 1974 and I was 4 years old at the time!! I can remember seeing the commercial on the tv for it like it was yesterday. The commercial scared me and a few weeks later my teenage sister was taking me to the drive-in to see it!!

Fond memories of watching this movie and it's sequel on cable in the early 80's. Day one purchase for me!!

The tv spot was definitely very memorable at the time. Creative marketing using a very simple concept and not showing any footage from the actual film. "Magic" also had a terrific tv spot in the same vein several years later.

I just bought the 2/3 double feature DVD a week ago thinking that they will never get a blu-ray release. The DVD was only $3 though so it won't stop me from buying the blu-ray box set.

Good job, we'll credit you. I got that a couple years ago, I'm surprised it took this long

I think the third film is just as good in its own Cohenish/Moriartyish way, like Q -- hilariously entertaining but played perfectly straight.

After tax and shipping this came out to $50. Those sequels had better be good!
