Larry Cohen's IT'S ALIVE Trilogy coming to Blu from Scream Factory in May!!!!!

A proud couple's bundle of joy is really a newborn terror in filmmaker Larry Cohen's cautionary original IT'S ALIVE that tapped into environmental fears. The horror grows when multiple child monsters rampage in the first sequel IT LIVES AGAIN as two brave parents try to stop them by becoming the bait for their spree. The now global mutants are rounded up and relocated to a far-flung island in IT’S ALIVE III: ISLAND OF THE ALIVE. Will a parent's greatest nightmare become the world's gravest fear? Find out ... if you dare.

Extras are in progress and will be announced at a later date. The art you see showcased (illustrated by Joel Robinson) will be on the slipcase. Although we can't show you them yet, the plan is to have the original theatrical key art for each of the films on the three separate blu-ray cases that will be inside of the case. We'll share those later as well.

Great news!! What I'm wondering is... how did SF get the rights? Were they no longer with Warner? I thought these would be coming from WAC if we ever got them. Either way, I'll take it!

Wonderful. Larry will be thrilled to do a commentary no doubt. He's a friend and we've talked about a BD released for years. He came to my HS with his two daughters in tow (both who are in the second film), and one of the babies.
Warner has gotten so lazy in releasing catalog titles.

I absolutely love the original. John Ryan's performance is amazing, deserved an Oscar nod at least, and Larry Cohen directs it with as a serious picture that looks more like The French Connection than a monster movie. The fact that the movie plays out like it does despite the ridiculous premise is one of the greats feats in cinema.

Wonderful news, this is, so far, the release of the year for me! I hope they at least go OCN for the first film, it’s very frustrating to see them settle for IP sources again and again. I know they won’t/can’t take the VS preservation/definitive presentation route (4K from OCN) every time, but fingers crossed they make an exception here.

I think Larry Cohen owns the rights. He produced the films independently with Warner Bros. distributing all three. It's possible that said distribution rights have now run out and Cohen can do whatever he pleases with the films now.

Great announcement! Very happy these are being issued on Blu-ray in what looks to be an attractive-looking box set. The first film contains some heavy grain so here's hoping they have access to the OCN and are able to create a new scan.
