I completely agree. When I rewatched the MCU, that was the first thing that stood out to me. That Iron Man's suit felt like a metal suit (in a good way).

It is blatantly obvious that these plot points were created to make the suits transportable within the universe. It allows for lazier writing. |

There's a lot I can accept in these movies, but Thor plopping some dudes eyeball into his empty eye socket and magically being able to see out of it is too far for me.

The MCU is fun, but man it is lazy story telling time and time again. |

![]() It's not being lazy, more like time saving. Do we really need to see 30 seconds of Stark getting into his suit when it can now envelope him in a matter of seconds? Going to have myself a Cyberpunk moment and say that suit tech is directly from the comics ![]() Last edited by jayman3; 05-20-2018 at 03:07 PM. |

Typically the stupidest stuff in cinema and television is rationalized with "it's in the source material". That doesn't make it any less stupid.

I think nothing of it, it's aesthetically very good, But I guess we've been drowned in advance concepts that it becomes a little numbing.
I must confess I will always hold the original Stargate in high regard for the "Horus" articulating helmet. THAT was a treasure to witness back in 94' |

![]() Yeah, nope. Simply from the burn the lid is closed. Not gone as you stated prior. Asgardians heal quickly, which is shown that his area isn't as burned once he puts the patch on. |

Despite his body's resistance, Odin can be injured like any other Asgardian. However, his metabolism enables him to rapidly regenerate damaged bodily tissue with greater speed and efficiency than a human being is capable of. He isn't able to grow back missing organs though, as he lost his right eye during the Asgard-Jotunheim War and it has not been healed back since.
In the comics, Odin sacrificed his right eye in order to obtain the knowledge to stop Ragnarök from occurring. |

I was simply stating what's demonstrated in the movie is most likely inspired by technology in the comics. It's a comic book movie for Christ's sake; there's going to be outlandish technological concepts. |

Maybe one day there will be a realistic cop movie, where the hero cop spends half the movie writing reports. Then is placed on leave after discharging his firearm. Last edited by mwynn; 05-20-2018 at 04:51 PM. |

You are not alone MP. This violates conservation of mass. (I have an engineering degree, took a bunch of calculus based physics classes, and this will always bother me in movies)
I think the energy harnessing suit is clever in principle, but not when you can fit the thing in a necklace as others have alluded to. |
