I decided to purchase this on Google Play last night and thoroughly enjoyed it. Now the question is, do I buy the Blu-ray? I don't know if it was the streaming quality or if the filmmakers just cheaped out on the effects but I thought the CGI was subpar in this - especially the environments. There were enough great setpieces throughout the film that I might consider grabbing the UHD at some point - when the prices come down.

That story about Apple taking away movies wasn't enough to dissuade you from purchasing a streaming license two days before the disc comes out?

Does anyone remember if the Jurassic World statue set was announced / released at the same time as the standard editions? Or was it closer to the holidays? I'd really like a statue set for Fallen Kingdom, but lacking that, I'll go with the Target booklet.

Pretty sure the JW bookends were announced at the same time as the standard pre-orders.

No, because the idea was I didn't want to blind buy the movie on physical media. I just wanted to watch it and get it over with. I ended up really enjoying it so now a purchase is feasible (in the near future) . Just to be clear, this was more like a spur of the moment thing. I typically blind buy big blockbusters that interest me on street date but in this instance, this was simply an impulse purchase.

Just picked up a copy of the blu ray version of the Target exclusive. There was a Jurassic World:Fallen Kingdom stand up front. It had 10 copies of the blu ray version of the exclusive, one of which I got.I did not see any copies of the 4k version for those who are interested.I didn't check the back but I have a feeling the 4k version of the Target exclusive is going to be hard to get in store.Actually at the stand,I didn't see any copies of the regular version of the 4k release either.Again, there could of been copies in the media section in the back of the store.I didn't need to go back there so I have no idea.

Also the bones disk for the exclusive is a DVD.

2nd target had a couple 4k exclusives and I left one regular exclusive.
Are these somewhat rare?

My Target had one 4k exclusive back in the media section. I saw about 8 or so Bluray exclusives.

Also, I didn't realize until I got home that this isn't a digipack like the other Target exclusives. It's a full slip with the regular 4k case packed in with the book behind it. I'm not sure if I want to keep it when it's not a digipack at such a high price.

Stores tend to not make as many exclusives as regular releases. So, they can definitely sell out faster and be harder to find later on.

These are seeming like they will be rare, yeah. My store has 1 4K and 4 standard left as of right now. I thought the high price may deter people but it doesn't look to be that way.

Forget what the price was when I was there today. I know they had the 4k for $26.96.

Rented this from Redbox for tonight on Blu, but own the first Jurassic World (in that "mint tin" round packaging that's uber-cool); we didn't get a chance to see this in theaters...I always felt bad for what they do to poor "Blue," the raptor, at least based on the trailers I saw for Fallen Kingdom, but I'm gonna have to sit through it...

Were there special packaging options for this like there were for Jurassic World? Any tins, or just steelbooks?

Pretty skimpy run times. Well, if it ain't Star Wars I don't really collect bonus features anyway.
