Trent Reznor + Atticus Ross is an instant win.

They put out some of the best scores/OSTs in recent history with their Fincher collaborations.

Their soundtracks are good but I was just sort of laughing/agreeing with Monterey that they do sound like a vaccum cleaner. The weird thing is I am listening to the TGWTDT soundtrack as I read that post.

I think their FIncher scores are truly amazing, and they match up with content perfectly.

Gone Girl is a wonder.

The day that the score for The Social Network won an Oscar, I knew that the art of film composition was dead for good.

I love ya man, but I couldn't disagree on this more.

It fit the content of the film so well.

Ah, well, we're just going to have to agree to disagree.

Fincher went from Elliot Goldenthal to Howard Shore to David Shire to Alexandre Desplat to TRENT. REZNOR.

Talk about a downward spiral.

Doesn’t it make sense them doing the score considering what they were doing in the Mid 90’s?

These are all great tracks, and they do great work in the music score world...but none of those are the tone of Mid90's. I don't think anyone would argue that they aren't great with what they do, but it just really doesn't seem to be a match with a 16mm shot, 90's SoCal skater movie.

Also, clearly I haven't seen this yet, but if you were looking for/wanting a modernized version of Kids, check out Skate Kitchen. That movie was so good.

There are four TV(?) Spots on facebook with a bit new footage here and there and with a first glance at Katherine Waterston's character in one of them: https://www.facebook.com/pg/mid90smovie/videos/

I don't know if these are available elsewhere as well.

Mom roles or not Waterston is a babe.

Oh, couldn't agree more.

I mean, Sandra Bullock is still hot, and she's been in the "mom-role range" for a while now.

New trailer with barely new material:

_____

Would a mod please change the movie title in the thread title from "Mid '90s" to "Mid90s"?
