I bought XII day 1 for the PS2. Played it for a few hours then never touched it again. Did not like the battle system. I've completed XIII. Not a huge fan of the paradigm system. I have XIII-2 but have no desire to finish it. Lots of sizzle but not much there for me at least. I'd rather play I or VI for the umpteenth time.

Used my gold coins to pick up World of Final Fantasy for $16 today. $40 was way too steep for this game for me but for under $20 I am in. Will get to it after finishing Fire Emblem Warriors and NSMBU Deluxe.

It wasn't my type of game but I spent my free time the last month watching one of my favorite streamers play through every inch of it and it was very relaxing. Some games I can't for the life of me get into myself but I can watch others do it.

Don't think I've ever really cared for the others. Glad for the first time in probably 11 years, I can play all 5 of them again.

They're still not fixing the over world music issue so this isn't surprising to me.

Started playing World of Final Fantasy today; I put about four hours in and am really enjoying it more than when I played the demo.

Word around the net is that the original FF7 had 15 fps battles too (and PS4 and XB1 left it this way too) so that video is just fake outrage.

Yeah, that video looks exactly like the original game.

I’m not following. We shouldn’t expect a 20+ year old game to run better on current hardware than it did on original hardware? I mean sure it’s an rpg but they could iron it out with a tiny bit of effort. What they’re charging for this makes it even worse.

Its FPS locked man they would have to change the code which they are not doing for these releases.

I might actually get these as the PC ports are pretty iffy with modified music and a horrible DRM scheme. I assume the Switch versions have the original music and don't require you to login to Square's servers to play?

I don’t know what was changed about the music (sounds the same to me as someone who does not know the games enough to notice minor changes), but I have FF7 on the PS4 and FF9 on the Switch and they can certainly be played offline. Even an ad for the Switch version of FF7 shows someone playing it on an airplane.

I grabbed FF7 on Switch and it seems almost identical to the PS4 version, which was a modication of the Steam release. It does not require any interaction with Square Enix's online services.

I have to say, playing this handheld is quite an experience. I'm actually farther in FF7 than I have ever been previously, which is saying something considering I owned it on PSOne and PS4.

Mystic Quest is really underappreciated. The hot jamz alone are worth the price of admission.

Apparently the PC version was patched and now has the normal PS1 music, so that's why it's the same I guess. FF8 still has crappy midi music.

These games are single player RPGs. They play off line and both are excellent!

Final Fantasy X/X-2 Remaster is currently the best port Nintendo Switch game for me. It felt really nostalgic.
