I'm still in the dark about the ultimate edition. What all does it include beyond what's in the regular edition? I am anxious to know if I should chuck my standard order and go for the big tamale instead.

Canceled my pre-order of the US BD. Studios are always trying to screw us with phased releases and I take this as a sign that this will prove to be the case here.

Mandy included a DVD dedicated to even more extra material (to allow a higher bitrate on the BD perhaps?), the -brilliant- soundtrack on CD, a vinyl single from the movie, big artcards, a big booklet, and a huge poster. So basically just to please fans and collectors. Some people don't care and that's fine, but this release had me ecstatic.

So Suspiria should be similar. If not, I'm sure it'll at least be good considering the high price.

I can't wait for Suspiria and the Climax digibook (not from Koch though). Germany is killing it.

This is my most anticipated release at the moment IMO, especially as I suspect the UK will have no physical release (and only Prime Video). Looking forward to hearing more details come out.

Well, I'm in for both editions for now. I'll decide if I'll keep both closer to the release date.

I’m not seeing English subs listed including on Blu-ray.com for the German release

4K discs don't have regions. There is a *possibility* that the standard Blu in said 4K package may be locked to one region.

That’s specs for 1080p disc as no Atmos listed for sound. Hope they are there on 4K discs

But we don't even know yet, if there is Atmos on the disc yet (I actually doubt it and it doesn't say so anywhere).

If the listed English subs are correct, I think it's more likely that both the BD and the UHD-BD have them though - it would be odd otherwise.

Having said that, a Koch release is by no means guaranteed to include English subs.

I can't seem to find it, but has it been confirmed somewhere this release has HDR?

Ugh, so might need to remux with subs from a Blu Ray from another region.

Considering the blu ray has Atmos it should be a joke if the premium version didn’t
It is mastered in HDR the iTunes preorder shows HDR if this is absent from the disc again it would be a joke

But where does it say that the Koch Blu-ray has Atmos? I for one also really couldn't care less about Atmos.

I would also just wait for actual information on the disc before calling it a joke. As of today I expect it to be the best version available. Koch is doing great work. There's also nothing wrong with Neon Demon for that matter.

As usual I don't get the negativity. Yes, if you need English subs, you may be ****ed for ex, but that's not really a fault of a German release.

All I see is DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 listed ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Sorry bro.
Slightly OT, but overhead or not, DTS has always been better than Dolby to my ears. DTS-HD MA (although it depends on the movie) gives dialogue and objects much better depth and clarity, while Dolby Atmos is too focused on the bass. And then there's me who just plain and simple can't stand immersive audio. It makes me mad for some reason. So I'm glad Koch is staying with DTS if that rumor is true. I have three discs so far and their audio tracks have been spectacular, and The Neon Demon was near demo-worthy.

Back to Suspiria, I really wouldn't be 100% sure about English subtitles though. Basically all we can do is wait.

Edit: I’ll let you guys know first thing when this arrives here.

If other releases have Atmos and the film even has finished in Atmos at the end, then yes the ultimate edition should have Atmos like the standard blu ray. What you don’t seem to grasp is that 4K is a premium option and is reserved for premium specs as has been the norm with all other releases. If I was stateside the US iTunes has 4K, HDR and Atmos. Unfortunately in the UK there’s no even pre order yet only a dvd on the horizon

What you don't grasp is that a lot of people, myself included, really don't give a **** about Atmos, because they don't have Atmos and never intend to have it - for me 5.1 was the end of the line . (I'd like to add that many Atmos tracks are automatically generated gimmicks anyway.)

Sorry pal, I actually find the Atmos crowd utterly annoying and you're a perfect example. I always wonder how they cope without bottom speakers? The immersion!

My point being: You want Atmos. You stated so several times by now. That's fine. I got it. This disc most likely isn't for you then. Move on (to the Atmos BD thread). But I don't care and I'd pick a 4K HDR disc without Atmos over a Atmos Blu-ray or streaming any day.
