So have I and when I’ve ordered something from them that they didn’t have the release date on it yet when going to shipping I never got it until like a week or something after release that. This last year they really have been dropping the ball for some reason. I know some haven’t had problems with them but I have been and they finally fixed one of those problems by not using USPS shipping and delivering my stuff.

I use Amazon Prime with pre-order price guarantee and they always show up on release day. Like StingingVelvet, maybe 1 or 2 have been late in the last 10 years.

It says one BD-25? The title says 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray + Digital Copy. So maybe they just forgot?

It's pre-release so that is just the info on the old BD that is included.

I hope I'm wrong, but I fear that this UHD release will contain the same amount of suckage as the Lionsgate UHD release of another movie from the same period - 3:10 to Yuma, where a properly encoded 1080p blu ray shows more clearly defined film grain and finer detail than the UHD:

https://caps-a-holic.com/c.php?a=2&x...8&l=1&i=1&go=1

The German Fox blu ray of Lord of War and its insanely high bit rate already crushes the Lionsgate BD in terms of compression:

https://caps-a-holic.com/c.php?a=2&x...5&l=1&i=5&go=1

I hope that the UHD is sourced from a new master.

Think it's been a while since they have done a film-out for a 4K disc so we should be okay.

I think this will look fine, my biggest concern is the black levels.

The thing that has me worried is the fact that the old blu rays are sourced from a somewhat competent master. If it was a more dated master, as is the case in for example American Psycho, then I would be much more optimistic that this new UHD will be sourced from a brand new master, with all the newest 4K/UHD/HDR bells and whistles we have in 2019.

LG seems to have stepped away from their processes that were in place with their initial releases of the format so I see no need to be worried. The last bunch of LG titles quality has been good to great. American Psycho IMO is one of the biggest upgrades yet of the format. The BD is unwatchable.

Does Lord of War have a DI, or was it finished on film? If it's the latter I can't possibly see a 3:10 situation.

That is exactly what I'm asking myself and why I'm worried. It was shot during the period where films were beginning to have digital masters.

If it was just a couple of years older, I would be pretty confident that they would be re-scanning the film elements like with American Psycho and Van Wilder, and that this upcoming UHD would look amazing.

Preordered mine for $16.99. Never owned it so it's a good price me thinks.

Loved this movie when it came out, but I wonder if it holds up. I’ve been watching a lot of movies I loved when I was younger and... I’m finding that they either don’t hold up -or- now that I’m older, they just don’t resonate with me any more.
