Superbad has a great cast, and it is a lot of fun to watch. Booksmart is better, and funnier. It's too bad movies like this are never nominated for Oscars. The performances of the two leads, the script, the directing by Olivia Wilde...all are worthy.

To be fair, you can say, "some people didn't [love it]" about any movie ever made. But the previous posters are correct in that Superbad is indeed a fairly well-liked and well-though of film. (And, IMO, for very good reason.)

But something like this film, and Superbad for that matter, are going to apply to lots of people, but are also going to immediately turn off a select group. Also, and I'm not comparing this to Apatow's films, but the same is true of his movies. They are generally quite well-liked, some are even loved. But you have a group of people to whom they will never, ever appeal.

But I really thought that clip was great, as I said. This will be a fun ride, I think.
