I keep a close watch on the OOP thread and any titles I’m interested in jump right to the top of my lists.

I use NotifyPrice as a 'wishlist' type thing...it's just a question of actually getting around to adding things from every retailer (and trying to do so when they're at a relatively 'normal' price so I'll get an alert on a decent price drop).

For things that don't yet have purchasing links available, or ones I don't know if I want until I read further about either the film or the disc specifically, it gets trickier. Dawn of the Dead, for example. Or how will Kino's Kind Hearts and Coronets compare to the existing UK release?

This. I do it for all the Amazon countries I order from;

Amazon.com
Amazon.co.uk
Amazon.de
Amazon.it
Amazon.fr

Anything I want not distributed by them I usually keep track of in my head

I don't bother with social media (twitter, facebook, ...), I get my 'release' info solely from this site (blu-ray.com).

never really had an issue with keeping track of things. not that many titles out there that i need to keep track of in terms of need to get. i have my priority list which is usually catagories like Universal Monsters or Hammer horror and then will put titles in order of want. if something new gets announced then it may be added or bump something in terms of order in which to buy. before any of that in terms of older titles i have to determine whether it needs an upgrade from a currently owned DVD. plenty of titles that i may have for collector purposes but rarely watch so no need to upgrade in those cases.
