When Fox held the rights to DreamWorks’ catalog, they did something along those lines, having only the slipcover art follow the faces-over-solid-background formula (for instance, Shrek over green), whereas the actual case cover art is essentially the poster art (Shrek, Donkey, Fiona, and Farquaad posed on a field). Eventually they started replicating the slip art for the case art

I"m curious to dig up and find my Walmart DVD edition of the movie, since it had some extras exclusive to that version.

No doubt unintentional, but the cover kinda matches the UK shorts release.

No sign of this or Chicken Run for the UK yet, but the biggest let down is that the BD's missing the Cracking Contraptions shorts from the DVD. Granted, they're on YouTube officially, but a physical release that isn't non-anamorphic would be nice.

Cracking Contraptions is included on the Australian BD release of the shorts.

The big problem I have with Blu-Rays of the first three Wallace and Gromit shorts, is that they are always at a 4% lower pitch and speed. The Australian Blu-Ray is the exception, in that the speed and pitch is correct for The Wrong Trousers and A Close Shave, but A Grand Day Out is still pitched lower. The only place I could find an HD version of A Grand Day Out in both the correct speed and pitch is on iTunes.

It's the cheapest option, they get the intern to do it "my first photoshop project"...

I think they're pursuing that all important "toddlers being dragged around supermarkets by their parents" demographic.

MrChristoph is there a problem with importing Chicken run, most if not all have unadulterated English audio?

In regards to the covers... I didn't actually think about it, but the nordic covers of the first wave was not the same as the US releases. They were not the theatrical posters either, as far as I can tell, but it at least gives me hope for the next wave

We ARE missing out on the slipcovers, but they almost always arrive damaged anyway because of Amazons shoddy packaging.

The covers are designed and selected for streaming; disc releases are an afterthought. They have to be much simpler to grab the eyes of people who are scrolling through. Once the cover is selected, it's used on the disc releases just because they prefer things to match.

Makes sense, they need something that works as a thumbnail

the extras on the 2-disc bonus edition were:

- Making of the Were-Rabbit (9:44)
- Cracking Contraptions (all ten shorts)
- The Amazing World of Wallace & Gromit (15:00)
- Gromit's Favourite Scenes (4 scenes)
- Learn to Draw Gromit (2:43)

Do any of you mind that the galleries don't seem to be included on the Blu-Ray?

Yeah, the whole faceplate covers are a big waste of money IMO, but I get it, you have to make DVD/Blu-ray sales somehow. Sadly, this is what attracts the millennial/generation Z era (or to a better degree, little kids).

OK, we didn't get Gromit's Favourite Scenes, Learn to Draw Gromit, Gromit Cam or any DVD-ROM content on this side of the Atlantic.

I registered on this forum to add to the chorus of "About time!"

Curse Of The Were-Rabbit is so brilliant it's unbelievable to me that it has taken this long. Of course I won't import or pay full price since I already have it on that prehistoric 'lowest common denominator' storage medium, but at the right price in Australian dollars...yes!

Bit of a shower thought, but will the American Blu-ray have "marrow" dubbed over with "melon" as it was for the American release?
(found a clip with the alternate line @ 2:42 )

Wallace says "marrow" in the Japan release of this, for what it's worth.
