I just realized the NBA Finals begin tonight. Now I know why Godzilla screenings started at 4pm and my 6:35 only has 3 seats sold.

The same will happen with BB and BS next weekend. Need to make room for the big budget movies.

My theater still has Star. Poms hit my second run theaters last weekend.

The Curse of La Llorna might be their biggest financial hit.

NBA Ratings are waaaaay down and a Golden State vs Toronto Finals will be death ratings, it won't harm any movie at all. Also, historically championship sports that feature a Canadian team see's a decline in ratings.

La Llorona is not weeping so much any more. In fact, she's laughing all the way to the banco.

No it wasn't. It wasn't a bomb, but it certainly wasn't a hit.

the budget was $100 million plus marketing. Sure that's near $200 million once you equal in the marketing. So even if the marketing and budget is $175 million. So for a film this budget, plus marketing for a film only made $362 million worldwide. A lot would say it underperformed.

Godzilla pre-sales at Harkins Theaters for tomorrow are looking average.

Perhaps an under $50 million weekend?
