I'm so happy I did not get the original Fox set. I ordered from Shout even with the issues they had last year. I want that print beautiful artwork.

Essentially the thought was that Damien was an impulsive child in the first, a reckless young man in the second, but now as a refined adult he wouldn't resort to needless carnage the way he would as a child and instead would be much more calculating in his actions and cruelty.

I'm not sure that this idea was pulled off or communicated all that great in the final product but I do give credit for the idea as it makes sense.
Yes please, I am interested in the details from the Fangoria article on Omen 3.

The original set was released 11 years ago... that's a long time to wait.

Any time I buy digital, the physical comes out a month later.

I'm getting this. Omen was one of the few films to genuinely scare me when I was younger.
Given the hate the sequels are getting, I do remember not liking Damien but I remember liking Final Conflict.
The remake was ok, didn't love it but didn't hate it
Bring it on October!

I love The Final Conflict: Omen III soundtrack by the late: Jerry Goldsmith. I think The Final Conflict and Basic Instinct are two of the most powerful and intense scores that he's ever composed. I actually bought both of these soundtracks on CD which is rare because, I generally I don't buy movie soundtracks but, The Final Conflict and Basic Instinct were must haves. The Final Conflict soundtrack is absolutely gorgeous. The orchestrations and the choir, I've never heard anything like it. Jerry Goldsmith composed the heck out of that movie, and he should've won an Academy Award for best score.

I wonder why this set is only limited to 10,000 copies.

The Hunt, The Second Coming, The Blooding Reel...screw the movie, the score is glorious. I was in college and I'd play it over and over writing research papers.

A number of years ago, a local youth orchestra put on a series of Jerry Goldsmith concerts, and in one, a full choir joined them for a few cues from the first OMEN, and also the last cue from THE FINAL CONFLICT.

The first film's score won an Oscar, so its presence in a concert hall is probably not unheard of, but never in a million years did I think I'd ever hear anything from THE FINAL CONFLICT performed live. It was magnificent.

I have a really soft spot for all but the remake. I’ll be very happy to replace that travesty of a box. I just figured that the 4K scan of the original would never make it to physical at all. Easy pre order.

Since I'm pretty sure I got the original set for like $8 so I don't feel guilty about double dipping and getting rid of that awful packaging. Plus, getting Omen IV will ease my OCD-ness about complete collections. I actually like all the Omen films, even the remake. I think the 3rd film is the best out of any of the sequels/remake although nothing beats the original.

Never the seen the sequels, or the remake, but I absolutely love the first film. Would love the 4k remaster as a standalone, but this set looks pretty damn killer.

I'm sure you are familiar with "the law of diminishing returns", yes? The Omen series is the perfect example of this law. The original is good, the 2nd one is fair, the 3rd one is poor, and the 4th one plus the remake should both be handled by the Film Anti-Preservation Society.

Oh I'm totally aware of the decline in quality in this franchise haha. So my expectations are already low.
