Might as well make it a UHD now.

Seriously Turbine, it's been three years since you announced this but you need to let us know if it's actually coming out in a foreseeable future or not. I'd rather buy your edition that includes extras with Mr Ice himself than the US one, but if we don't get any news soon I'll jump on that instead. Drop the zero and get with the hero!

Well, I'll be damned. Not two, not three, but four different editions (12inch, 2x Mediabook, 1x Digibook) are coming!

Details in the first post.

Turbine any word on the source/master used for this release? Will it be the old digital over sharpened Universal master or have you guys remastered it?

The US release by Kino Lorber is on a 25gb disc. I noticed this release has 2 Blu-rays, 1 of them is for special features so hopefully this if anything will have a better bit rate!

This will be the same elements Universal gave Kino, if it wasn't they would brag about a new transfer. The Kino disc is transparent to the source, this isn't like when Shout Factory messed up Hackers. But those special features seem extremely enticing, absolutely destroys the bare bones Kino. If they aren't just Zoom calls/audio this is a nice package. Though I agree with the sentiments might as well make this a UHD in 2023, for that reason I have to pass, too much money and my Kino was only $10. I would love to listen to Ice talk about this in current day, I've seen a lot of his old interviews he tells a good story, even if some of them seem made up.

I mean, that was a solidly produced and beautifully shot (Janusz Kaminski, anyone?) feel-good movie. As for the fabled cringe factor of dialogs, it makes it perfect for party watching and for drinking games.

David Hasselhoff isnīt big in Germany... he used to be...30+ years(late 80īs/early 90s) just about the same time he used to be big in USA, only difference being that girlies bought his crappy records for a limited time...

Vanilla Ice isnīt a thing AT ALL... never was...
this is most likely a "so bad itīs good/cult/retro" thing

Most, if not all, the interviews were done before Covid. Michael Gross mentioned on Facebook on August 19, 2018, that he was interviewed for Turbine's blu-ray:

In a 2019 Facebook post, Turbine shared a clip that showed footage from the Michael Gross, Kristen Minter, and Victor DiMattia interviews:

This is probably one of the nicest looking bad movies ever, watch it muted and you might think it's something prolific, basically the equivalent of a music video that was blown up into a film. Highlander could have been so very similar but that turned out good. The funniest part of this film is I think Vanilla Ice's fad was already dying when it came out, as Chris Rock said about music in the '90s "Here today, gone today."

Can't wait to hear from the Vanilla Expert! LOL..

The movie is the best with a few beers and Rifftrax. I couldn't believe how silly it was even for back then. The oversized salt shaker scene..wtf. I wanted to see it as a kid but never did. Years later my mind was blown.

"The dad from Family Ties suddenly wonders why he's in this movie."
