WAC doesn't make new extras, but if the DVD release had extras, they'll do their best in bringing them on the Blu-ray.

Was hoping for some special features but I'll take what I can get.
Also, I still can't stand watching the scene when Luke discovers his parents didn't come home....

ABOUT. BlOODY. TIME.

Whew, thought we’d all be stuck with the current so-so streaming copy but thankfully good sense has prevailed.

Now if only this release included the original cut of the film that was screened for test audiences! Personally I prefer the current, more upbeat ending but would still love to see the one that remained true to the book’s more somber resolution.

Was lucky enough to attend a screening of this last Winter with Angelica Houston in person. She gave lengthy discussion of the film beforehand and told some amusing anecdotes surrounding children across the world being terrified of her for years & years after its release.

Exactly, hopfully the DVD extras will be included, but either way just happy to have this in HD!

That's the problem: the original set had NO features whatsoever.

This was Jim Henson's last movie. It deserves more love than this, but at least it's finally going to be in high definition.

"Director Nicholas Roeg later edited out scenes he thought he would be too scary for children after seeing his young son's reaction to the original cut"

Shame WB cant dg them out.

Ah I could have sworn there was at least a featurette on the original DVD that had interviews with the kids - I sold mine off a long time ago though in anticipation of a blu ray which never materialized...until now.

Technically wasn't Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles the last film Henson worked on?

It’s a Manufacture-On-Demand (MOD) pressed disc. The “MOD” designation doesn’t indicate the disc format.

No, the DVD is bare bones. Oddly, I have seen a featurette but can not remember where and when.

The DVD has zero extra features, but it does brag about having "interactive menus" on the back cover of its snapcase.

I am extremely happy to see this movie get a blu-ray release. It is a must have for me.

Some WAC BD's have included the trailer when the original dvd didn't. When that is the case, the trailer is not advertised as a special feature on the press release, nor on the back cover. Being that this was a Warner theatrical release and not inherited from another catalogue, they shouldn't have problems digging that out at least.
