This "issue" has existed on some of the Standard DVDs as well... Primarily on Disney releases, but I have seen the same behavior there too (have to Chapter ahead to get passed them).

While it isn't an issue to just hit the next chaprt button a bunch of times, I do agree that this could turn into a bigger issue - been to the movies lately? You sit through a bucket load of actual commercials BEFORE you get to see the movie trailers, then the feature film starts. I definitely don't want to see that kind of behavior or content out of my home movie theater or Blu-Ray...

I believe the point the OP is trying to make, when all is said and done, is that we've PAID for this movie, we're probably going to watch it multiple times, and after a few months, the previews will be out-dated; so why are we forced (in some cases) to watch them without having to go through several steps skipping them all to get to the feature that we want? I'm in agreement with him. We shouldn't have to be forced to watch them, or go through the inconvenience of having to fast-forward through up to seven previews before finally getting to the movie that we want. At the very least, let us have the option of just hitting one button to jump to the main menu.

In defense of the OP... just how many times do you have to hit the bloody skip key... the trailor takes a few seconds to load, then you hit skip, then it takes a few seconds to load, then you hit skip....

With all the whining people do about how long it takes some of the earlier players to load, this is not that different.

God forbid you just start hitting skip repeatedly WITHOUT letting the trailer start, next thing you know you are on the third or forth track in the movie.

In a way, I kind of agree with the OP, yes, it is easy enough to work around, but after spending $20+ to buy the disk, you bloody well shouldn't have to!

All the studios have to do is change their authoring to allow you to start the menu anytime, instead of locking out the "menu" function until after you have gone through (either watched or fast forwarded) their forced adverts.

I'm with OP here, for all you members that want to watch the previews just go into the menu and select trailers. There is no good reason for movie studios to make me watch the trailers every time I put the disc in. Disney started this crap with DVDs and customers wrote and complained about it, and now Disney release the jungle book DVD with the option to go right to the menu. People have to stop saying this is the work around hit skip 7 times then put you remote down and get a drink come back and the menu will be there.

I agree with the OP. When I put a disc in, I want the main menu or the movie. If I have to sit through previews, at least give me the power to jump right to the main menu. I don't care to play hop scotch with my remote... skip.... skip... skip... skip... skip... skip... It's annoying just to read it. Simply make all previews accessible from the main menu.

I press the skip button myself. I F'n hate previews the majority of the time, unless it's for a movie I am interested in seeing.
