It just goes to show, whatever cost advantage HD-DVD had over blu is quickly evaporating .

Well according to Midnight Watcher over at the "other place" this is all a lie and Digital Playground is firmly behind (pardon the pun) HD DVD and will definitely help HD DVD rise to the occasion and maybe beat BD in sales (again, pardon the puns).

On a side note, I think the next big release from them, In Diana Jones and the Temple of Poon, will be a bi release (available on both formats).

Come to think of it, Sony would not allow Porn on BetaMax either. A decision they tried to make stick with blu-ray. I respect them for at least trying to keep the porn industry out of home video. It's obvious to me Sony is a family oriented culture and Toshiba are a bunch of .... well. You fill in the blank.

She looks nasty now anyways!! She is trying to become model skinny and it makes her look like she is sick or something and on top of that she had breasts removed. She went from Hero to Zero!!

She's trying to get into a reputable business of "acting" and "modeling" now? LOL

Sounds a lot like what Warner is doing, giving them time to jump off that rat infested ship and join blu.

Media reports have quoted adult-film directors and producers accusing Sony of pressuring others not to manufacture Blu-ray discs with adult content or share technology with the porn industry. The result, according to reports, has been a migration by adult filmmakers toward HD DVD, a competing format.

Sony dismissed the claims saying it has no control over the licensing of Blu-ray, and has no problem with the adult industry using the format. "There's no prohibition against adult content," Lisa Gephardt, a spokeswoman for Sony Corp. of America, said. "We don't tell people how they can use the licenses they get from the Blu-ray Disc Association."

Indeed, the BDA, which handles all licensing for Blu-ray technology, said in a statement that the group is "an open organization that welcomes the participation of all companies interested in using and supporting the format, including those that represent the full spectrum of genres in the content industry."
(quoted about 40 posts back in this thread.)

Since this story is a year old, I don't think Sony or the BDA was trying to make any porn prohibition "stick."

According to this thier still neutral:

When reached for comment regarding the report, Digital Playground media relations denied its validity, saying, “This is not accurate. We are currently supporting both formats, HD and Blu-ray.”
