A movie I had in SD, Predators, is suddenly playing in HDR in iTunes when I use the app. It still doesn’t say 4K on the movies info page, but it does have HDR listed. Anyone have this happen to you them? It came from the old form of digital copies that required the disc too.

According to this none of the Roku outboard devices do Dolby Vision:

Nothing on either of my Rokus, and no app update either (as of a few hours ago).

None on mine, really hope they're working on that since I bought Midsommar specifically for the directors cut.

I also cannot access the extras from the app on my TCL TV. Hopefully they'll add that in an update, but in the meantime, I'm just glad that this app is available.

My Black Panther is only HD on the AppleTV app - and iTunes in general - despite being 4K on MA, etc. (from a 4K code). Any idea why?

Disney movies do not stream in 4K on Apple. Pricing dispute between the two companies.

Oh well, thankfully I have plenty of other services that do have the movie in 4K.

Unfortunately this solution didn't work for me nor does a full restart. Sign In On Mobile Device says Verification Failed and Sign In On This TV just says Signing In... with a spinning circle no matter how long I wait for it to complete the sign in. If anyone has any other ideas I'm game to try.

Using a Roku 3 (4200X).

Ok, I don't see you original post, but did you get a code verification when attempting to sign in or do mobile device option? When I did mine on one of mine express + via on mobile device (really did it from website), I had to input a 6 number code that was texted to my phone on file for Apple ID, since I was attempting to log in on a unknown device, after inputting the activation code from the app.

Try unplugging everything first. Then remove the SD card. Re-insert everything except the SD card and start the Roku up. Open the AppleTV channel. You should see a percentage indicator at this point, because it's now loading from the device instead of the SD card. Then try Mobile Sign-In. May take a couple of attempts. After you're signed in, you can re-insert the SD card.

From my understanding the appletv app on Roku is HDR10 only. I also have TCL TVs. The 6 series in my living room and the P series in my master bedroom. I use my appletv 4K in my living because it offers DV. I was going to buy another appletv for my bedroom, but the app doing HDR10 is good enough for now. Maybe we get an update down the line for DV.

Nope, doesn't get as far as getting a code. It immediately says verification failed.

Tried watching a movie last night and it went back to the home screen twice in the first half hour so I gave up and finished the movie on MA. I thought the pic quality on ATV was kinda rough, lots of artifacts.

Why isn't the 4K roku 4 supported if not the 2 or 3 than at least have the 4 which has 4K

Thanks, got it working by doing things in that order (used mobile sign in). The app is kind of meh really, but it's nice to have access on Roku to the things I have that are iTunes only.

My nearly five year old Roku 3 now has Apple TV with my itunes library. I have a bunch of Lionsgate and Paramount movies that I hadn't gotten around to (I'm lazy, I probably could have watched them on my PC) from that $10 for 10 movies on the 10-year itunes anniversary sale. I also have a few other non-movies anywhere purchases.

I'll take "things I thought I'd never see in my lifetime" for $500, Alex Trebek.

I'm so confused by this app on the Roku. I thought I could install it and take advantage of the nice 4K iTunes sales I always see at the top of the page, but it seems to be more trouble than it's worth.

I installed it, but couldn't just create an account directly through the Roku app. It gave me a code I could use on activate.apple.com, but that site just says "There was an error. Please try later" even before I can try entering my information for a new account.

So I went to a computer and was able to create a new Apple account from scratch, which I then tried to activate with the Roku app. But that only gave me vague errors about needing an iTunes account (even though I thought that was what I was creating). Eventually I tried typing in my password directly into the Roku Apple app, and that gave me a slightly more useful error message, saying that the Apple account I created wasn't enough, I also needed to create a iTunes Store account, which is apparently a separate thing.

The crazy thing is there's no way to do that on the web, as far as I can see. I would have to download and install the iTunes application on my desktop computer, log in to the Apple ID I created earlier from that, and it would somehow mark my account as allowed to use the Roku app?

This is the most convoluted thing I've ever seen, and now after fighting with it for 30 minutes, I'm not especially motivated to install additional software on my desktop computer just to be able to give them my money.
