No not really. The Bee Gees not only sing and recorded material for themselves, they've also composed hit songs and produced albums for other big named artists such as: Barbra Streisand, Dionne Warwick, Kenny Rogers, Celine Dion and more. Any artist who get the opportunity to work with Barbra Streisand is a honor because she's a legend, and one of the most prestigious female singers in the industry.

I think you misunderstood my comment. The previous person said nobody would remember the Bee-Gees if it weren't for Saturday Night Fever. I replied, "absolute madness".

Ridley Scott To Direct Paramount’s Bee Gees Movie From GK FIlms

I love Sir Ridley, but I can’t think of anything less worth his time (or anyone’s really) than another musical biopic.

Um, every biopic is its own story? Different life, different music? Should I not watch this because I saw the Freddie biopic?

I agree. And, I hate to do this but The Bee Gees are a "one movie wonder". No question some of the songs from that film are nostalgic and catchy. But, let’s be honest here…. That’s really all they got.

Their best song is "Bald headed woman".

The Ridley news is strange though.

They’re all so formulaic though, just dramatised Wikipedia pages with the songs interjected throughout. Honestly you could watch most these biopics with your eyes closed annd they play exactly like audiobooks. And again I’ve like Ridley Scott’s newest output but he’s not one to divert from the script or place his own stamp on stuff.

While this certainly isn't the most exciting subject matter for Scott, I do like the idea of him taking a crack at it. Even when musical biopics receive middling reviews like Bohemian Rhapsody and the new Bob Marley movie, if they're crowd-pleasing, the box-office success is almost guaranteed. Scott hasn't had one in a while.

Jordan Ruimy from World of Reel insists the western will start shooting next month, but I find it hard to believe. No official announcement whatsoever, no casting news, nada.
