If you put them in a short chronological run my favorite 4 pack of Star Wars movies would be:

Revenge of the Sith/Rogue One/A New Hope/The Empire Strikes Back

I probably wouldn't say favorite myself, as I think a good chunk of the story and characters are a bit bland, but that last third is great. I do think it's better than Episodes VIII and IX turned out.

I think Force Awakens, Rogue One, and Solo are all solid films, and you factor The Mandalorian in, and I think Disney/Lucasfilm is doing a'ight with Star Wars. But man, do I wish they put more thought and time into the sequel "Skywalker" trilogy first. They should have really focused 100% on knocking those out of the park before doing any other movies/tv shows. Immediately flooding the gates was such a huge impetuous mistake on their part.

I'll still get this, but I didn't quite like this one, easily the worst of the Disney Star Wars films for me.

Except the Third act, have to state that first.

Rogue One is my favourite Star Wars Disney era movie and for me it belongs up the with the Original Trilogy, it's the only Star Wars Disney movie that I didn't look at the watch while watching it and left the cinema whishing it was longer.
I've seen it plenty of times on BD but I spend the whole movie thinking "this was shot with the Alexa 65, it must look oustanding on UHD BD".
I only hope they don't mess the sound mix and we end up with one of those bass-shy dull sounding Atmouse mixes.

Now this, I can agree on.

I agree. Rogue One is the only Disney Star Wars movie I like (so far).

I hope Rogue One can get a commentary on this. I think the director promised one which we never got.

To me, this feels like the original trilogy but looks better.

I don't know how many of you played the West End Games Star Wars RPG but this is that game brought to the big screen.

I loved the RPG and I loved this movie. Can't wait to watch it again.

Totally, they nail the atmosphere and then some. Right down to the 70's facial hair on the rebels, it feels like you're back in that original film. The production values overall are fantastic. Such a cool movie.

Ahh the good old days of RO. Back before Star Wars threads were constantly like this:

I still don’t see why this one gets so much love. And from both casual and hardcore fans. I don’t dislike it, but it’s easily my least favorite Star Wars movie.

The characters are just so... meh. When I saw The Force Awakens, I immediately fell in love with characters like Rey, BB-8, and Poe, but with this one, they’re all kind of just.. there (except K-2SO.. love that guy).

Maybe it’s too “generic war movie” for me. The action is great, of course, but I want something more than that from a Star Wars movie.

I’ll still get this of course, though

Well, that's a fine line to tread when you're making a movie that
[Show spoiler]kills off its entire principle cast
and still has to appeal to a younger audience. They're not going to themselves any favors by causing a bunch of kids to leave the theater bawling their eyes out because their newfound heroes
[Show spoiler]all ended up getting vaporized

Default Forever A Favorite

Thoroughly enjoyed RO on Disney+; still holds up for me as a Top 3 Star Wars film and by far the best of the Disney films to date.

Looking forward to a day one UHD addition/complement to the Skywalker Saga, as well as the new project from Gareth Edwards, Forever.

Here’s hoping he finds an easier road than G14 and RO.
