Agree...just wish Vader had a more substantial role. His appearance was treated as an afterthought and only incorporated into the story during the re-shoots from what I read. The brutality he displayed in the climax really highlighted his ruthlessness!

I love how pristine and white the Star Destroyer’s look

Half the time I thought Edwards legitimately used actual miniatures during the climactic battle.

See, I think they used Vader perfectly. Gave us a taste of how his threatening presence and menace was felt by not only the rebels, but by the officers within the Empire as well, but didn't go completely overboard with it. It definitely enhances his first appearance on the blockade runner in ANH

+1. You can really feel it in the commander's inflection in this shot when he responds to Vader.

Also, if you're watching the films chronologically, Vader's entrance here makes for a pretty amazing bridge between Episodes III and IV.

I won't be able to do a 'saga' run-through without putting this in-between Sith and Star Wars. Best prequel EVAR!!!

That's something I think makes sense. The Empire hasn't faced any significant opposition until this point, large space battles don't exactly happen on a daily basis, so not like they're put through rough use and become all dirty and damaged. They mostly just have to cruise around, transport important Imperials and look intimidating.

Plus totalitarian regimes like to make their shit look good.

I recall reading the novel "Lords of the Sith" and the description of Vader going after a group of Twi'Lek. Vader literally plowed though them, and my jaw completely dropped. Forward a few months and seeing what Vader did in the Third Act of Rogue One, I said to my self, "yea it could be worse".

I was hoping to see the novel's depiction of Vader manifest itself in the film, and boy was that a treat.

Star Destroyer White was the name given to the pigmentation of paint that was applied to the hulls of Star Destroyers in Imperial service. It was the only color of paint that was produced in enough quantities to be reasonably-priced for applying to Imperial II-class Star Destroyers. Booster Terrik, who had wanted to paint his Errant Venture red, declared that this was evidence that Emperor Palpatine had been out to annoy him personally all along.

Me personally just likes to think they became weathered over the years due to space junk and gradually turned grey.

It needs to be viewed after Sith to clean the pallet.

My least-favorite Star Wars movie, even though it's admittedly the best-looking one. I'll upgrade on sale.

Eh, Sith is my favourite of George's prequels, but Rogue One: Prequel Harder rocks so much because it manages to juggle loads of the lore of the existing SW universe (bridging the PT and OT while factoring in the Clone Wars and Rebels animated shows too) AND still has time to add its own new stuff like the holy Jedi city, the Whills etc. It's like this amazing way station where SW's past, present and future intersects.

As an actual film I still think it's an ungodly mess, but as a 2 hour piece of fan service I couldn't have aksed for more.
