Great, now all I can think of is them singing the Mickey Mouse song at the end, only replacing 'u s e' at the end with 'u h d'

My dad went through Marine basic training during Viet Nam and said everything in the film is exactly as what he went through except for
[Show spoiler]Private Pyle wouldn't have had the firing pin in his rifle allowing for him to kill the DI and himself.

I love the film and day one but can't imagine going through that shit for real.

Of all the classic war films I watched in high school with my dad, this was my least favorite. I still have never revisited it despite buying the UK steelbook a few years ago on the cheap. But in 4K, I just might.

Saw this on 35mm over the weekend. The scratches, dirt, fading of the print, and cigarette burns all bring back great memories of being younger and seeing things on film, but definitely make me glad I have the BD. I hadn't watched it since the original blu-ray was released, and it hits even harder the older I've gotten, particularly the first half. Not sure I'll buy it on UHD just because my rewatch likability has decreased over the years. Still, great film!!

That entire "set" was an old gasworks in England that was in the process of being demolished. They gave him free reign of the place, so he didn't even need to put the money on screen - all the work was done for him, all he had do was add some set dressing and shoot

What is that site? Why is it important?

I hope it is, and that it comes with a button that when you push it plays a random quote from Gunnery Sgt. Hartman.

He could even provide some commentary on the cover art itself:

"You're so ugly you could be a modern art masterpiece!"
