Those moronic DUDers at AVS are just too funny. They really get what they deserve!

Not really sure which spin is worse on this situation, the hd people on avs or Penton saying that it is "A vehicle for astute Blu-ray supporters to add salt to the Warner wound."

I'm a bit lost here. What is Warner doing now that is different from their January 4 announcement ?

What we knew was that they will release hddud three weeks after the Blu release. Also that they will stop supporting hddud on May 31

So what exactly is changed now ?

Initially, some sites thought (were reporting) that Warner was only delaying the new releases for HD DVD by 3 weeks but that back catalog titles would be released at the same time. Then, apparently, Warner let people know that back catalog titles would also be released 3 weeks later on HD DVD and some how, this is being spun as a positive for HD DVD.

god this is hillarious. they are acting like warner is going to release more movies or something. the 3 week "extension" is due to the fact that their last HD DVD will be on 5/27 instead of 5/06 due to their new policy of delaying EVERYTHING 3 weeks, not just day-and-date titles.
Sadly many will look at this as Warner still backing hd dvd, even though it is all B.S.

Extension .... seems like only a short term reprieve until the lethal injection hits the rest of the system that is non functional as is 99.9% of HD DVD...

I did some research, no one I asked at Warner even knows who this Jason Gilbert guy is

My best guess is that he used to work for the outfit that Warner outsourced their HD DVD production to.

And we thought the Fan bouys were spewing FUD again... Looks like there's some hope after all for the DUD format. How could we have been so wrong?

Its Funny. New HD DVD movie(s) avaiable for purchase in May, but DUD players are practically off the market right now.
