Cool Is Blu-ray your last "hurrah" or would you upgrade again?

This is NOT about "movie downloads" . Sure, it will happen. But hard media is here to stay. Please stay on topic.

I have said it before, "Blu-ray is my last hurrah." While the potential of some movies is not fully realized on BD, there is little incentive to ever upgrade again to yet another new format.

Even *IF* 2k and 4k home monitors become affordable, do I want to dip again in a new technology? Isn't it bad enough a number of people dipped for the numberous formats like LaserDisc, VHS, & DVD? Not to mention any number of re-releases.

Sure, it's easy to say "never again" when you are holding the best in your hand. Didn't we say the same about DVD? But with blu-ray any new offerings will seem to have diminishing returns. This is high def people. Higher Def may not matter to us.

Has blu-ray become the "good enough" technology to outlive all other formats combined?
