I was so happy this was getting a blu ray release, but without those, I'm sorry, but it feels incomplete so no sale for me. I know it's obviously a rights issue, but I don't think I could part with my Rolliing Thunder DVD just yet, because event the Subkultur doesn't have the bumpers, just the commentary.
Is it official that it's a right issue? Is it possible that they're still negotiating to get the rights to those features or that they're on the disc but weren't announced, i.e. the additional commentaries on the "Elvira" set?

I never saw it officially mentioned, but it wasn't mentioned on the special features list. It most likely has to be a rights issue since it was Rolling Thunder via Miramax. I mean, I certainly hope they're there, but after the press release, it seems more unlikely now.

* I know it sounds dumb to not buy this release solely based on the inclusion of these QT fluff pieces, but I'm very nostalgic about them as I saw the VHS of SS back in the mid 90s when I was a teenager and it made an impression on me.

It would be great to see They Call Her One Eye (AKA Thriller: A Cruel Picture, AKA Hooker's Revenge) receive a US release as Gargus posted. Another film I've wanted to see since hearing Quentin Tarantino rave about it.
I didn't care for Thriller: A Cruel Picture, but Spider Baby is really great.

Yes, James Flower confirmed elsewhere that the commentary wasn't available.

You do realize that buying this doesn’t mean you also have to sell the old DVD, right? Cause that’s exactly what I’m doing, buying this and keeping the old DVD. I agree the stuff on that was great, I have no reason to get rid of it. But I also don’t see why you’d want to pass up owning this film in HD.

True, but I'll always want that ultimate version with everything intact together. I know it'll probably never happen with this title but I can just live with my DVD and forget this version exists. I know that sounds crazy but I don't like having multiple copies of the same tiles, but to me, that's crazy.

So according to Amazon (and also Best Buy now), the release date has been pushed back a week.

I haven't checked lately, but I can remember when you could buy the old DVD for 3 dollars on Ebay, so it's not like it would cost that much money to keep the old one or buy a new DVD.

It went down a couple days ago, after the preorder on Best Buy went online. It's currently 27.99 on both BB and Amazon.

Since they're all on the old Miramax HD master, of course they'll look similar.

If you look very carefully, you might notice that the colors are filtered and shifted half a pixel to the right in Arrow BD. Not a huge problem and most people won't notice it, but it's there.

I have the Subkultur BD, so I'm sticking with that.

Picked this up from Amazon but no slipcover? I thought all the first run Arrow copies came with one - are they not doing that anymore?

Not all Arrow titles come with slips. Switchblade Sisters did not have one.
