That’s my favourite Rez/FPS combo whenever sacrifices need to be made. I don’t know if the PS5 could handle 2160p/60 for this game. Would be nice. |

I still like the 1440p/60 with ray tracing the best. However in this game, I'm not sure if there would even be a lot of opportunity for ray traced reflections. The game takes place mostly outdoors where it's mostly vegetation and rock. With the exception of maybe a puddle here or there or off a piece of armor, I don't know if RT would even be that necessary.

Agreed, the game loads fast & already looks great. I think adaptive triggers & a smaller file size are the only 2 real improvements left.

I sold my copy after finishing it but if they released this new smaller game with an Ultimate Edition including an updated version of the original game (whatever those updates might be) like with Miles Morales I would pick it up again.

Surely you're not suggesting the visual gap between 1080p and 480i is the same as the gap between 1440p and 1800p.
![]() I've said it over and over. Maybe it's because I'm getting older and my eyesight is getting worse or maybe its because my TV does such a great job of upscaling. But I REALLY struggle to notice any huge difference between any of those resolutions higher than 1080p. I can see somewhat of a bump, going from 1080p to full 4K because I've compared some of my old Blu Rays to their 4K counterparts (and even in some of those cases, the difference wasn't enormous. Certainly not like going from DVD to Blu Ray). But once you get above 1080p, looking at 1440p, 1800p, 2160p, etc. The differences, at least on my TV, are so small, it's not really even worth squabbling over. I'd much rather play a game at 1440p WITH ray tracing than 1800p without it. That small gain in resolution is way less beneficial than the gain of ray tracing. I’ve said it before but I firmly believe upscaling techniques are getting so good that native 4K is really a waste of horse power in games for these current systems. The trade offs needed for that resolution just aren’t worth it.

I’ve been tuned into 3840x2160 resolutions since 2013. Every Single Pixel matters. That’s just fact. More colour, more detail, more light, etc etc. If you’re happy with 1080p, than you don’t even need a 4K Display to enjoy PS5 games. I’d just stick with 1080p TVs. Me I’m looking out for 8K Micro-LED as 4K has too much screen door effect. Pixels are tooooo big. ![]() |

Woah now. I never said I was "happy" with stopping at 1080p. I just said that any of those resolutions that are higher than 1080p are kind of indistinguishable to me. I can certainly see the bump from 1080p to a higher resolution (some more than others in certain cases). It's just going from 1440p to 1800p or to 2160p where I can't see significant gains. At least not enough to sacrifice framerate and ray tracing. |

I see the downgrade even with a game that doesn’t have any options, Metro because they decided to go heavy on RT. Your TV will always look the best running in its native Panel Resolution. Super sampling, AI sampling, checkerboarding, even AMD’s newest AI using 1600p, then upscaling AI to hit 2160. Side by sides show that tech ain’t quite there yet. DF already broke AMD’s solution on Godfall (A game I did play at 1440p) & it’s clear their solution isn’t better than checkerboarding. Then you take all that, & your TV then uses its own internal upscaler which some are better at it than other TVs. Anyway, I agree with you about 60. Though it has its pros & cons. Last of Us 2 at 60 now clearly doesn’t hide all its graphical & resolution flaws. HDR to some degree is like Color Blur. Makes pixel counts a bit harder to see so that is a good thing. Turn off HDR & it’s much easier to see exactly what the Resolution is. Again thanks to Godfall & Sony’s Oooops! Moment of not booting the the HDR game in HDR. lol 1800 to 1440 isn’t like 1080 to 480. I was being sarcastic. ![]() Even though it is a downgrade & a noticeable one. Ghost of Tsushima at 1800p/60/HDR, I’d take that over 1400/60/RT. RT is nice but it’s usually 50% lower res (On PS5) than the actual games Internal res. So it’s a mis-match. Your making me really question do we need a PS5 Pro? Or just wait for PS6? ![]() |

Having said the above, one big difference that is noticeable is turning CA off in the options menu. I thought Ratchet looked much better with CA off, but of course this is a subjective thing that everyone should experiment with and decide for themselves. But yeah, 1440p/RT I will pick every time if we have that option and is without a doubt the best compromise IMO. |

Chromatic Aberration. What does that mean? Hell if I know, I just remember it from the settings.
![]() But film grain and motion blur are absolutely turned off any time I have the option. |

Sony needs to hurry up and have SOMETHING because they're leaking like a faucet right now. LOL. It's what they get for dragging their damn feet to have their next showcase.
